Meaning of Senzu?

Meaning of Senzu?

What does Senzu mean, if anything? I know, in Viz, it's also referred to as "holy bean".

The sen kanji is the same as in "sennin" (hermit), and the zu is just bean, so it'd be the hermit's bean, or sage's bean, etc. Karin is called senbyo- (hermit cat), after all.

By the way, this is the reason I say "senzu bean" is totally redundant.

Yeah, it's as redundant as "Master Roshi".

Yeah, Korin is a Sennin(Great Master, though he technically says he's a Sennineko(?) which would be like Great Whisker(Cat) in this context) so his beans are the Senzu, the "Master Beans."
