Tankoubon (2009) spine art?
Does anyone have a picture of all the re-released tankoubon side-by-side?

There was a re-release of the tankōbon?

Yep, a year or two ago... the new design was less than popular.CODii wrote:There was a re-release of the tankōbon?

The spine art for volumes 1-20 was on the site in May 2009:

Scroll down to May 21st and past the video game screenshots.

Still not great, due to the obi covering some of the art, but it's the best photo I've seen of these, for the moment.

Don't wanna be interdimensionally rude, but I'm lucky to have the first release, because the new green design is really crap.......
Big D and big B with red star between them..... Looks like 60's Soviet train advert/propaganda booklet
Not mentioning the green. As my profession is graphics and typography, some of these things are hurting me even more.

I don't get why everyone is so down on them. I like the new look, but it seems the color of the cover art is slightly different. Certainly 100x better than those ugly VIZBIGs or that awful Dragon Ball Z logo...

MAn, no love for Tenshinhan and Yamcha? I mean Chaozu is there but Tenshinhan isn't?

Well, I suppose there are lot of characters more important than Shuu or Bubbles

Well, I guess 4Kids was on to something.
And here we were making fun of them. Shame on us.
Btw, is this the version that ends with that adtional scene between Goku and Uub and Vegeta saying "I'm going to beat you yet ..."?

The spine art gets many points for including Tenkaichi Announcer.

Awe man I would totally love to see someone redraw and recreate this spine art! Is there an actual image online where you don't have to put the books together to see this?

Nope, that's the kanzenban. You can see the kanzenban spine image at the bottom of this page. As far as I know the only thing different about these tankoubon re-releases are their covers.Michsi wrote:Btw, is this the version that ends with that adtional scene between Goku and Uub and Vegeta saying "I'm going to beat you yet ..."?

Re: Tankoubon (2009) spine art?
Wow, that's the first time I've seen the spine art for the kanzenban. Weird that he chose to show Daimao , but then again he did say he was his favorite villain. Also LOL at Vegeta and his tricycle being last ....
