Seeing how with the home releases the dub had Goku use "Solar Flare" on Vegeta, but had Krillin call it "Taiyoken" on Dodoria, do you think they'll correct the Kikoho's name when Tenshinhan gets around to using it on Cell or is your money on them keeping it named "Tri-Beam"?

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an audio file somewhere on a hard drive at FUNimation with John Burgmeir's Tien/Tenshinhan shouting "Kikoho!" Chris Sabat has been very open about how the dubbing for Kai has been rushed at points due to the need to get the episodes on TV, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was a simple oversight. Many people have noted that several lines have made it into the edited version of Kai that sounded like they were better-suited for the uncut version.

Well, the oversight theory may not apply to the Kikoho/Tribeam situation, but I still believe it applies in other places. However, your reply reminded me of another theory I had a while ago about this issue (and forgot about in my first post). It could also be that FUNimation didn't want to create two episode titles, one for the edited version and one for the uncut version.

By the time that episode was made, they didn't have a deal with Toonzai yet. Only with Nicktoons. The Toonzai deal came later.

I understand, I wasn't disagreeing with you. Just pointing out that if that indeed was the reason, it turned out to be futile anyway.

They created two episode title cards for everything anyway, since the font is inexplicably different on TV.

True, but the titles of the episodes are not different between the cut and the uncut version. That would probably be very confusing to potential buyers of the Kai DVD or Blu-Ray box sets. The average viewer is confused enough. I can't tell you how many people I've encountered online who don't even know that there IS an uncut version of Kai on DVD and Blu-Ray. I've been pretty vocal that I think FUNimation has done a lousy job of telling people that there is both an edited and an unedited version. Really, the only thing that less-informed people have to go by is a sticker that's found on the cover of every DVD or Blu-Ray box set. I haven't seen one commercial advertising the Kai home release as being uncut.
