Dragonball Manga
I just want to know if the Dragonball manga goes right up to 16 books. I have not found a 17th so I am assuming there is no more than 16. Can anyone confirm this for me please?

Technically, the "DB"-era continues into volume 17, as well... but Viz moved them back a volume to start a "fresh" DBZ release. It's only two chapters... 193 & 194.

There was a lot in early DB drawn from Journey to the West. IIRC the start to the end of Pilaf was almost nothing but.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Heh, a couple of days ago I happened to see some filler eps between Uranai Baba and the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai and what do I see? Another filler ep that's based on JttW =D The episode with Kinkaku and Ginkaku and their magic gourd is based on the Gold Horn Great King and Silver Horn Great King episode of JttW. On of the finer stories in JttW and really funny as Wukong escapes several times from the gourd ^^

That's really one of my favorite filler episodes. I haven't read JttW, so thanks for filling me in on that.

Can't remember a nine-tailed fox demon in JttW? Don't think there was one in the book...
But then again, the only nine-tailed fox I will remember my whole life is the most famous nine-tailed demon fox, Daji from Feng Shen Yan Yi / Houshin Engi / 'Creation of the Gods'.
And Ninetails from Pokémon. >.>

No there was a 9 tailed fox in JttW, she was an old female fox demon. She had two children which I am not sure if they were the two demons mentioned earlier with the gourd. But in the book, Sun Wu Kung smashed her brains open to discover her true form, a nine tailed fox demon. He then changes in to her and enters her childrens cave in hope to rescue his master and 'brother's'
Although I know that resembles nothing that I have seen in DB, it would have made a nice filler episode. I was just curious if this inspired any episode in DB.

Oh yeah, I know what you're talking about. Didn't remember her because she was killed rather fast in the book
Don't remember though whether her children were Ginkaku and Kinkaku though, I know that in the Hong Kong series of JttW II she was indeed the mother of them, but that series wasn't actually following the book to the word and they used several elements from the book for one story.

I hope this post is not considered 'bumping' but after searching for the Manga on www.amazon.co.uk. I have found all 16 volumes of the Manga but for volumes 4 and 5, I could not find the volumes which had a RED background.
I want to know if there is a difference in the content because of this or if the cover is the only difference.
