Anyway, I thought this chapter was funny. Not just for the Saibaiman/Yamcha joke, but the fact that Yamcha still had his boobeyes! And the decapitation scene of course... and this was supposed to be a kids' comic?! Although I thought the ending would've been better if Chichi knew that they were talking about their father and she told them about it.

I have to wonder, though, that if Dragon Ball SD does well it'll get a TV animation. That'd be interesting.

I just don't get this series. Is it really necessary to just directly redo so much of the original? I mean, the two actually new jokes were pretty funny, but it really loses its effect if everything else is just regular Dragon Ball.

Based on a series with no new material. It'll be reused merchandise regardless if it's actually "new" to the general public. It happened to Kai, who's to say it won't happen to SD?

Who is to say nobody learned their lesson? Since Kai failed merchandise has shifted towards Heroes and associated titles. We got the Episode of Bardock line (as plithy as it was) and are continuing to get new merchandise. To assume companies based on making money won't adapt to try to make more money is silly.

I did say Yamcha's fear of Saibamen got me. It's a nice joke foreshadow for things to come. I didn't see how dropping Puar and Oolong's relationship did anything, but okay.

Yeah, but the difference between SD and EoB is that Bardock had some actual new content. This, not so much.

I'm bored to hell...... There is so much space for creativity and two jokes incorporating anything from the ''future'' that still isn't much original because it's reused portion of later story really don't upgrade anything......
This strikes me more in contrast that TOEI GT-fied Saint Seiya and did original sequel to it called Omega, alongside OAV based on spin-off manga Lost Canvas and the original author is doing Next Dimension in the meantime.
And this series ended 7 years before Dragon Ball!!!!
What we get is ton of video-games like no other series and about 3 short video stories and this SD. Ehhhh.

Changes made:

- Goku doesn't go and look for Chichi for obvious reasons.
- The fan is available and Chichi uses it.
- Pilaf steals the ball
- Yamcha appears and they all go after it (Ox King and Chichi stays behind).
