James Marsters showed a lot of knowledge about Dragon Ball when he was interviewed for the live action film.
-edit-
And there's Wu-Tang's RZA's oft-cited 2009 book where he uses Goku in an extended metaphor.

Waka Flocka, Lil B, MGK....lol. I'm sure there are actors/actresses in Hollywood that are familiar with the series. And for shits and giggles, Justin Chatwin.

Childish Gambino(Donald Glover) references DBZ in his song "My Shine".
I've seen Jackie Chan in a few pictures with Toriyama. In the Translation Request thread there is an article titled "I LOVE DRAGON BALL" where I assume he talks about why he likes the series.

I think Christina Aguilera is fan. in her music video ''What a girl wants'' we see a picture of Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Goku in the background
I don't believe she's a fan but it's random that it's there

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I think Masi Oka, who played Hiro in Heroes, stated somewhere that he was a fan. Heck, he even drew parallels between future Hiro and future Trunks, both time travellers with swords who came back to save the world.

I remember that Robert Kirkman (Walking Dead, Invincible, and Haunt) is a fan of Dragon Ball since I recall him talking about the series in a interview before?

Hong Kong actor/director Stephen Chow was a huge fan of Dragonball and has a huge stash of Shonen Jump manga in his office.

Also, is it weird that half of the celebrities we've come up with are rappers?

Given nerdcore is a sub-genre of hip hop music, no it's not really surprising to have rappers shout rhymes about Goku.desirecampbell wrote:Also, is it weird that half of the celebrities we've come up with are rappers?
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Re: Are there any celebrities that like Dragon Ball/Z/GT?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
