Who is the biggest idiot ?

Post by Monkey D Goku » Wed Aug 08, 2012 12:57 pm

Throughout the Dragonball Z series we see the Sayians grow and become stronger but with their continued growth so have their personalities and decision making been affected. Goku,Vegeta and Gohan have all had their arrogant moments where events in the series could have been less stressful than they were thanks to their decisions.

Who do you think out of these three Goku,Vegeta and Gohan is the biggest idiot ? (Not in terms of intelligence but what they have done over the course of Dragonball history.)

Note I'm not including Goten ,Trunks and Future Trunks as the first two are children and the latter does get shit done.

Vegeta is the biggest idiot by faaaaaarrrrrrrr

For the following points.

1. Allowing cell to become perfect when he could of killed him from the start thus letting him become a threat again and spiral the earth into nearly being destroyed.

2. Vegeta allowing Majin Buu to be born, and instead of fighting with Goku decides to go and fight Buu alone thus getting himself killed.

3. Vegeta allowing the androids to be activated when he had a good shot, and chance to kill them before they could of been activated.

4. Vegeta stating that the head pieces was a transmitting devices to Piccolo, and yet still talking about the dragon balls and his plans for immortality while wearing them. Thus, leading frieza to Namek and making things worse for the protagonist.

5. Vegeta allowing frieza to kill dende when he could of knocked dende out of the way the same way he did gohan.

Just reading through the Cell arc again, I'd have to say Vegeta. He's supposed to be quite intelligent and strategic in knowing his opponent's strength, yet he allows his arrogance to take over. Whenever someone tries to talk sense into him it's BLABLAICAN'THEARYOU and he proceeds to gets his ass kicked just like the people he should have been listening to had predicted. So then what does he do? He does the same. bloody. thing. again. He learns NOTHING from the fight against 18 and just repeats the same mistake against Cell.

Seriously Vegeta, just how does being a member of the royal family (of a dead race at that) automatically make you more powerful?

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Vegeta.

Not that he's an idiot, is just that his actions and choices always had bigger repercussions in the WHOLE series than any of the rest characters.

4. Vegeta stating that the head pieces was a transmitting devices to Piccolo, and yet still talking about the dragon balls and his plans for immortality while wearing them. Thus, leading Freeza to Namek and making things worse for the protagonist.
It's even BEFORE that. DBZ wouldn't exist if it wasn't for him! Vegeta was the one wanting to attack that other planet with powerful people, so Raditz suggested to get his little brother to help them. All DBZ should be called, "Vegeta makes a mistake ---> sht happens".

Vegeta. Definitely. He's usually more destructive than the main villain!

Goku. He grew up in the woods and is really stupid. He spared a lot of bad guy's lives, gave Cell a senzu, and couldn't understand that his son didn't enjoy fighting.

Vegeta is just so arrogant, it blinds his judgment. Goku is just stupid.

Goten's a dumbass. Sounds like he's a bit slower than the average kid (especially the english dub version). BUT, out of Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan, I do agree my boy Vegeta does tend to make more work for everyone else for NO REASONABLE CIRCUMSTANCE.

Vegeta & Gotenks, for obvious reasons. Funny thing, they look almost identical.

Well, since it's only out of those 3, Vegeta. Only because the other two aren't really idiots at all. Hell, Vegeta isn't one either, but he has his fuck ups.

Lol a lot of great answers here. Personally I always thought Gohan was a idiot simply because we expect these things from Vegeta with his out of control ego.
I mean Gohan is suppose to be really smart he should easily learn from his mistakes and others.

Especially when he kept Cell alive which cost Goku's life. If Gohan had not let the SSJ2 power go to his head then Goku would have lived. Thus allowing Cell to become stronger yet again and make the situation worse.

He repeats this mistake with Super Buu, beating him senseless but not killing him as soon as possible which he could have done. Thus allowing Buu to think up a strategy which made things 100x worse forcing Goku and Vegeta to step in when Gohan could have easily killed the most threatening power in the universe.

Sure, Vegeta's smart and strategic like TrunksTrevelyan0064 said, but he's a dumbass because of his arrogance and pride.

There's someone who's more dumbass than Vegeta is Gohan. He should use his head on his own to learn and make his own decisions since he's really smart, not being told by Chi-Chi to do what she want like studying. AT messed up Gohan into that dumbass just like Goku. Like father like son. Gohan made his own mistakes like not destroying Super Buu before being absorbed by Buu and letting his SSJ2 power to mess up his head until Goku died too.

Kaioshin has gotta be up there. For having all the resources of a god, he knew absolutely nothing and was repeatedly dumbfounded by the saiyans. How could he have possibly missed the fact that at least three mortals had surpassed his own strength?

Against Zarbon, he crouched down and picked up some sand he then threw into Zarbon's face. Later on versus Recoome he pretended to be passed out, only to blast his opponent in the face at point-blank range. Granted, he tried a similar tactic against #18 but it has much less effect.

It's just that in the Saiyan and Namek arcs, Vegeta appears smart. He actually uses his head at times, planning ahead, like trying to catch Dodoria and Zarbon on their own so he can take them out. He knows he doesn't stand a chance against Freeza - until he lets it get to his head that he must be the invincible Super Saiyan, which gets even worse when he actually becomes one.

Goku has his moments of stupidity as well, but at least he admits later on he was mistaken in certain things, like letting Vegeta and Freeza live.

I've only ever seen the english dub of Z so it may of been more clear in the manga or original jap version but to me it didn't seem like he was pretending there, it came across like he had just been nailed into the ground and was still recovering, recoome rocks up and pulls him out and vegeta does the only thing he can in order to get out of the situation which is taking advantage of the fact that recoome let his guard down while taunting him. Sort of like a last ditch effort to inflict damage i guess.

Just how i saw it but honestly if it was meant to be that he was actually pretending then i'll accept that.

He just did some good movements on three fights, in only one arc. I wouldn't call him a good strategist because of only a few moments.
Also, just because I consider Vegeta an idiot & not a good strategist doesn't mean that I don't like Vegeta. He is one of my favorite characters. I'm just objective.
