Galick ho?
Okay so why exactly did Vegeta only use the Galick gun in the series during his fight against Goku? I have seen/heart it said that he never used it again because he did not want to be like Goku and use a beam attack similar to Kamehameha.

That's only rumor, that part that Vegeta ditched it because it was similar to Kamehameha. I never heard about it, and I have been watching DBZ since 13 years.

Re: Galick ho?
I suppose in part because he eventually replaces it with better attacks like the Big Bang Attack and Final Flash...which he also only uses once, in the manga. There's tons of attacks which are just one-offs in the manga, so there's probably no unique reason for why the Garlick-Ho gets that treatment.

There was never an explanation, but as Herms suggested, it's not as if there aren't tons of other attacks that are just one-offs in the manga, including Vegeta's own Big Bang Attack and Final Flash. How about Tenshinhan's Shiyou-ken and Shishin no Ken? Piccolo's Makankousappou and Gekiretsu Koudan? Kuririn's Kakusan-Dan?

Re: Galick ho?
To be entirely honest, the only person who really has a signature move in the series is Goku (and Yamcha with the Roga fu fu ken). The thing that always bugged me in the video games was that regular Vegeta was given the Galick ho as his signature move, but if you look at the series as a whole, Vegeta's signature move (at least his most commonly used one) seems to be the Renzoku energy dan.
There doesn't seem to be a reason why Vegeta stops using the Galick ho. It could simply be that Vegeta didn't think it was very effective because of the charge time.

I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

Re: Galick ho?
To add something similar, in terms of the manga, did Gohan ever use another Masenko after he used one on Nappa?

Ki blast volleys aren't as practical as beam attacks are in the games.Ketchup_Revenge wrote:The thing that always bugged me in the video games was that regular Vegeta was given the Galick ho as his signature move, but if you look at the series as a whole, Vegeta's signature move (at least his most commonly used one) seems to be the Renzoku energy dan.

That's a Masenko?! This whole time I just thought was some random ki wave since the hands don't look cupped together like all the other Masenkos. Then again, I remember Gohan shooting one in the anime (at final form Freeza) with left hand over his right arm, so I guess it isn't so consistent) Anyway, thanks Gonstead!

It might of been filler but Semi Perfect Cell used the Galick Gun against Vegeta at one point.

Yeah, that's filler. I think a Cell Junior uses it in the anime too.ringworm128 wrote:It might of been filler but Semi Perfect Cell used the Galick Gun against Vegeta at one point.

Re: Galick ho?
The Cell Jrs. definitely use a couple extra attacks that they don't use in the manga. The only one that's coming to mind at the moment is the Kikoho, but I think there was at least one other in there in addition to what's been said.

Makankousappou, which Cell himself also uses only in the anime?VegettoEX wrote:The Cell Jrs. definitely use a couple extra attacks that they don't use in the manga. Re: Galick ho?
I recall the Cell Jrs using the Kame-Hame-Ha, Makankousappou and the Kikoho in the Anime.
