Where's Kageyama?

Post by Xeogran » Sat Dec 15, 2012 4:51 am

It's been ages since we heard of a new DBZ-related song from the best anime vocalist ever. Kai and Heroes got Takayoshi Tanimoto, old Chala-Head-Chala was reused for Ultimate Tenkaichi, FLOW is singing for Battle of Gods.

Is it because of the Yamamoto scandal? When Hironobu Kageyama released his album (Non-DBZ related) this year, there were few songs composed by Yamamoto. Is this the reason he stopped taking part in the series?

I have to say, they shouldn't have fired Kenji. If they didn't do it 20 years ago, it would be better if they just left him. I wonder how did they realize about the "stolen" pieces, if somebody reported him or something. Whatever happened, it brought more crisis to the Dragon Ball francishe than any good.

If Toei Animation had kept this thief they'd put themselves on the risk of receiving lawsuits for having stolen dull modified music by Yamamoto. Dun dun dun dun...

Since Yamamoto has fans who are willing to support him then anything's possible.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

I wouldn't say it's been "ages" -- it's only been since 2010 with Raging Blast 2 and its opening theme.

Think about us poor fools who went from 1997 to 2003 with nothing...!

Maybe he's just busy? After all, he's been touring a lot with JAM Project this year, amongst other things.

I also get the impression that Toei and co. are trying to go in a new direction musically
(you know, to go along with their attempts to attract a new, younger audience).

So I don't think it's anything personal, I think it's a combo of him being busy and Toei and co. wanting to go in a new direction.

Kageyama does have a Facebook page now, why not ask him and see if he answers?

Not that it's Dragon Ball related but I think he might re-releasing his
1985 solo album Born Again. I got a notification from Play-Asia about it.

Yamamoto's scandal has nothing to do with Kageyama's confidence. It's just because they choose to care more about money than old fans' nostalgia.

I'd be in heaven if Kageyama-san would answer me personally ^_^.

@VegettoEX
Yeah, it hasn't been that long, but it's bothering me. I'd love to hear something DBZ-Related from him again.

@dbboxkaifan
Probably, but shouldn't have they realized it sooner? It's been over 20 years since Battle Point Unlimited has been composed, and the piece still appeared even in games (RB1, RB2).

@kei17
Well, if not for the Yamamoto's scandal i bet there would be a new opening for Ultimate Tenkaichi/Blast, instead of Chala.

I want him to cover Dragon Soul at some point. :P
"Those transformations insane,
They wanna turn up hours late and steal the show from the pros who had to die for the name." - Yamcha (DBWTF: Z-Rap 3)

"Over saturation is easy. Just drag the slider to the right and there you are: instant interest. And certainly, the majority of the public likes saturated color images. In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
