Kami's lookout?

Post by PorungasWrath » Mon Dec 17, 2012 7:54 am

So if kami was sent to earth during the drought by Katas and lived in the Yunzabit Heights where mr popo found him, mr popo must have been serving a former guardian of earth. Is it ever mentioned who this former guardian of earth is and who made kami's lookout being its floating in the air?

No, but you see his silhouette in DragonBall?

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about the fans a re-issue might alienate because if all they're concerned about is being able to scalp the people who were either unaware of the Dragon Boxes or couldn't afford them at the time, they're just leeches and deserve to have their greed backfire on them.

It was the child of Katatz who learned about the God of Earth and went to meet him; Popo didn't find him. We know there have been at least 2 gods of Earth prior to the child of Katatz, since Goku says Popo has been living at the lookout even during the time of the previous god and the one before that. So the lookout must be at least that old too, but we don't know when it was created or by who. Presumably there have been more than two prior gods though, and in the Garlic Junior arc we see the spirits of a bunch of them. We don't really know much about whoever was god immediately before the child of Katatz, other than the events relating to his succession given in the backstory of Piccolo and Garlic Junior. We see a vague image of him in filler and DBZ movie 1.

Wasn't it said somewhere that Kame-Sen'nin, Tsuru Sen'nin and Baba were all of a race which could live extremely long? Hence why they are all well over 300 odd without any problems. If so I can see the former guardians possibly stemming from the same race.

Nope. But you might be thinking of how "sennin" is a term for immortal sages with mystical powers. They're not a race though, any more than, say, Jedi.

I'm guessing a human God was Kami's predecessor.

Yeah, presumably the last guy was an Earthling since the whole idea is for the god of each planet to be selected from among the population of that planet (per the Daizenshuu 7 explanation of the god system). As I recall, in the Garlic Junior arc the ghosts of the previous gods are angry at Kataz Junior for being an alien, but he protests that he loves the planet as much as them. Makes you wonder how they found out he was an alien, and why they apparently didn't know before. You'd think that they'd run background checks on candidates first or something. But then, Katatz Junior himself was pretty quick to try and throw Goku into the role.

Pilaf's ancestor was the prior God of Earth. And now we know why he's so hung up on taking over the world.

Little do we know that this ancestor was also Garlic's father, and Garlic, Jr.'s grandfather.
