Goku's and Vegeta's mothers?

Post by PhoenixEX » Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:30 pm

Any mention of their mothers?
If not has Akira Toroyama said something about them or hinted at who they might be?

Raditz might have mentioned "our parents" in passing, but that's about it. The only mention of Vegeta's mom is in a timeline where it says the year that his parents became a couple.
A lot of characters parents (moms especially) are missing in DB. My out-of-universe theory is that since these characters aren't important to the plotline at large, Toriyama didn't bother to tell us who exactly they were.

And while the following isn't a surefire way to tell, my best way for getting a vague composite of what each of their mothers looked like is to just subtract what physical traits Goku and Vegeta don't share with their fathers. My guess is Goku's mom probably had similar eyes to him and hair somewhat similar to Raditz's. Vegeta's more difficult; all I can really pull is that his mom possibly was petite with dark brown hair.
On hiatus.

Both Goku and Vegeta's mothers died along with the Planet Vegeta.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I don't really see how that really has anything to do with the question. I'd say the original poster already knows that. You know, you can't totally prove that either, I mean, they could have died before or after the explosion, it's all a mystery until there is official word.

Thank Kaio that there's a word filter for the name of Bardock's female cohort.

I'm pretty sure Bardock slept with whoever and got raditz and goku from different women.
Goku; I'm positive his mom is the Saiyan that looks like Pan, but taller, look at the hair, dead giveaway.

Vegeta; She was petite, his father is like 7ft tall, and he's like 5ft 5, so she must have been 5 ft and blood of royalty.

Even though the Saiyans on planet Plant aren't originally from there, I guess the alien tribes were separated and had leaders until Vegeta Sr. rallied them together and conquered PLANT.

Nah, both Raditz and Goku have same mom.

Because Raditz has same facial and height appearance as Bardock, and Goku has same hair as him.

Doesn't that only prove that they have the same father, not the same mother?

My head cannon has always been that whoever she was she had the same eyes as Goku since both Raditz and Bardok have different eyes then Goku.

I've always imagined Vegeta's mother as being tall like his father, and Vegeta just got the short end of the stick, illogically as always.

Even more ironic if we count Tarble in as he was even shorter than Vegeta.

In dragon ball z kai raditz refers to them as "our mother and father...", that's enough proof for me at least.

The statement is nothing that contradicts the possibility of Goku having a different mother.
It is feasible that Raditz was trying to convey that both his mother and Goku's mother met the same fate.

Looking at Goku, Bardock, and Tullece, I think there was a playboy saiyajin among the lower ranks.
They probably share the same ancestor, and the Saiyans were only big enough to form small tribes.

Who is that prolific donor Saiyajin?

If raditz and goku had different mothers, he would refer to them as "our father and our mother(s)". The dragon ball wiki states that in some dubbed version(s) turles is gokus long lost twin brother, so perhaps yeah! Bardock slept around :P
