Japanese audio track. Oh smooth, growly Vegeta and cute squeaky Goku, you're both fun. :3

Or TFS' abridged for English audio.
I can't go back to Funi's now that I've heard MasakoX's Goku. MasakoX is such a better fit for the character in English imo. I can still watch Funi eps that don't have Goku in them though; strangely TFS hasn't affected my ability to listen to any of the other Funi cast members. Just Goku.

Oh! And I do like most of Ocean's voices for those first 3 dbz movies; those are good from what I remember.
On hiatus.

Japanese audio track the whole way through! Nothing cooler than hearing your favorite martial arts bum sound like a ten year old! 8)

The only reason I'd ever watch it in English is maybe for the Kai dub. Maybe.

For all of the 1986-1997 stuff, Japanese all the way.

I can watch Kai in English, but I don't care about Kai itself enough to want to watch it regularly.

I don't really have an order :? most of the time it's the English dub with the Japanese music. I can only watch the first three movies with the ocean dub. :D but it really just depends on how I feel.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Honestly, this is a really tough question for me.

My default is still the English version, even for old DBZ. I tend to multi-task while I'm watching something. I'm usually playing a game, or writing, or something along those lines. I can't really do that with the Japanese version though, it requires much more focus on my part to follow along. So chances are that the next time I watch the series, it'll be dubbed again.

That said though, I love the Japanese version. It's clearly the better, more stable version, there's really no denying that for me now. And it makes everything a whole lot more seamless through out. So I'll probably watch this version again eventually, but I'm not sure it'll ever be the series in it's entirety again (except for Kai, that I do still need to get to in Japanese), and instead probably just some movies.

Oh, and while I do like the Falcouner score, and even the rock music put into a lot of the movies, I always watch the 'Dub with Japanese Music' score version. It makes things more seamless for me, even on the dub side, since Dragon Ball never had a dub score for it. And I don't think I could ever go back to GT's dub music. *shudders*

Beyond that, I do have a soft spot for the first 3 Ocean dub movies, so I do kind of wish I had those for the hell of it. I'd watch them every so often.

Dragon Ball - Funimation English Dub
DBZ - Funimation English Dub with Japanese Score
GT - Funimation English Dub with Dub Score (Only because I find it slightly more bearable than Tokunaga's score)
Kai - Funimation English Dub
Movies 1, 2 and 3 - Ocean Dub
Movie 5 - Funimation English dub with Dub score
Movie 6 - Funimation English Dub - Alternates between Dub score and Japanese score.
Movie 8 - Funimation English Dub with Dub score
Movie 9 - Funimation English Dub - Alternates between Dub score and Japanese score.
Movie 12 - Funimation English Dub with Dub score.
Movie 13 - Funimation English Dub - Alternates between Dub score and Japanese score.

Don't watch all the other stuff enough to make an opinion.

Japanese since that's how the show was originally made. I might watch the Funimation English Dub depending on the mood that I'm in.

I prefer to watch it with the english dub but the japanese audio track (music/sfx) because I agree more with the original vision of the series with quiet spaces instead of Funi's original "music-all-the-time" approach and well English is my first language. Plus the music is better. I also prefer the later dubbing to anything they did early on (because they started to take it more seriously). Regarding Funi's dub, I prefer the new Frieza to Linda whatsername's from the original.

But all around I think pure Japanese version is best because that is the way it was originally created and I prefer Vegeta/Goku/Freezer's original voices in Japanese.

Funimation English or Japanese, pretty much on a whim. For the most part I really don't care, will go either way; very convenient when your fan friends that will only watch English, or when you can put on Japanese with those that don't have huge preferences.

Usually I watch it with my eyes. Ears for the audio.

Seriously though, the Japanese version in pretty much all cases. Now and then I'll watch the English dubbed version of Kai, or the Ocean dub of the first three DBZ movies, though.

I tend to prefer the shows the way they're meant to be, not how some halfwits at Funimation thought they'd be if they only had more bad jokes, terrible voice acting, and bad music.

He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I mostly watch it in Japanese. Sometimes I will watch the Funimation dub usually with the Japanese BGM. For the movies however, I prefer the rock music for BGM.

I declare that instead of the usual 'drinking games' that you can make to do while watching shows, Dragon Ball's equivalent should be an 'eating game'!

And then, suddenly, obesity skyrocketed up even further. And no, that's not a shot at fat people, I'm fat myself.

Japanese for both DB and DBZ. Although Kai's english version is honestly pretty good. I watched the marathon when it aired on Nicktoons on New Year's. FUNimation did a good job on the re-dub.

I grew up with the latin spanish version of Dragonball and Z, but I haven't seen this version in so long.. My Dragonboxes would be perfect if only they had this dub as an audio choice. FUNimation had it with the Ultimate Uncuts, why the hell did they ever drop it?? It's my favorite version of the show.

It depends what I'm in the mood for..I usually want to hear Sabat and Faulconer. What I like to do is watch it with English audio/Faulconer score with the Japanese subtitles. It's interesting to compare what they say in the dub versus the sub. As for DB, I prefer the sub and GT I prefer the dub.

Everything in Japanese with English subs. As for Kai, I watch it with the Yamamoto score.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Kai: In English, with original Yamamoto score whenever possible.
Everything else: Japanese 99%, sometimes English (always with original JP score).
