When I watch the Cell saga I get mildly irritated with the Z fighters talking about how stupid Mr. Satan is for not understanding the basics of ki energy, because it makes sense that a regular human martial artist (would) fail to comprehend what is very rudimentary for them about energy attacks and whatnot. However, when I watch the Buu saga I'm not so sure; he thinks he can learn how to fly just by waving his arms, and he also believes he can defeat Buu just by using some explosives.
What I'm really getting at is: does Mr. Satan make ridiculous accusation about the Z fighters using light trick and mirrors because he's cognitively unable to comprehend what's going on, or does he fool himself by denying the fact that he's way outclassed in his field?

The second one. He was claimed to be the strongest human on Earth by the whole planet, and suddenly some guys that can fly, shoot things out of their hands and destroy planets with shouting appear. If you were on his place, you also wouldn't believe what is happening around you.

That is one of my points referring to the Cell saga. What makes me consider that he might be stupid is the ridiculous ways he tries to prove himself. This was meant as a rhetorical question, because it is virtually impossible claiming he is either one of the given statements. His psychology is just to complex to grasp whats really lays underneath. I personally believe that he's mostly ignorant in his approach to figuring out what's going on, but he makes stupid reasoning like trying to fly by waving his arms.

Yea, Satan is a good character, I like how he's a really good entertainer and his funny battle roar. Like Schemmel once said; he is someone you can relate to cause he's basically a regular guy with his faults and all.

What I find most ridiculous is that Mr. Satan, including almost EVERYONE else on Earth, never remembered the battles that took place in DB? Goku vs. Piccolo? Whole stage being destroyed? Evil King Piccolo destroying cities???? Nobody remembers this?? Mr. Satan is the best? WHAT??
