How come they didn't bring Gohan to fight Kid Buu?

How come they didn't bring Gohan to fight Kid Buu?

That is, after they made the wishes to restore the earth, and everyone on it.
Instead of Goku & Vegeta pointlessly sweating it, why not bring Gohan, whose power
surpasses them both at this point, to finish Buu?

I guess Vegeta was just really keen on the idea of the Super Spirit Bomb, or didn't trust Gohan to finish it even if he was strong enough.

Or it just didn't cross his mind because of the pressure.

The short answer: Because Gohan would have been defeated very quickly, and wasn't strong enough to fight the Pure Buu.

I'm pretty sure the conversation on the subject went something (not so) like this:

Goku: Oh! I get it - if we restore the Earth and its people then Gohan and the boys can come and fight. Is that your plan?
Vegeta: No. How many times have you saved the Earth Kakarrot?
Goku: *Thinks about it*
Vegeta: Maybe it's time the Earth saved itself for once.

Without the plot thing, it would be because Kibito Kai wasn't smart enough or had the initiative to do that. He could have teleported to Earth, get Gohan, and teleport back to the Kaoioshin planet. But noooo... he just had to stand there with the Nameks. It would be a bad choice for neither Goku or Vegeta to leave that battle field even for a few seconds. Kid Buu can easily kill whoever is left behind easy if Kid Buu blew up the planet.

They wanted the most climatic ending for the series possible.

Toriyama wanted Goku as the hero so Gohan never fought Pure Boo because he would had beaten him and besides, Vegeta said he wanted the Earthlings to save the day.

There is a two way possibilities to defeat Pure Boo either use Gohan and Gotenks or use the Genki Dama, which is a skill that only Son Goku can perform with help of Mr Satan and Dende *wishes Goku's stamina to return to normal* for the final push he needed to suceed in the end.

Because Gohan would curbstomp Buu, making a boring ending.

Same reason they didn't form Vegetto again, or use the Fusion Dance while Fat Buu distracted Kid.

The entire final fight is a bunch of stupid decisions made to force tension.

Out of universe explanations come out on top and this is a great example.

In short: Gohan vs Pure Boo would amount to one panel in the manga.

Technically Gohan would count as a hybrid, not an Earthling, if you want to be pedantic that is.

When he meant that he wanted Earthlings to save the day, he meant the general population, and not just leave it to the Z Senshi to protect the world constantly.

In-universe: they're dumb and just forgot to grab him.

Out of universe: because then he'd defeat Kid Buu instantly with no effort and Goku couldn't be the main hero.

Best Answer. Toriyama just wanted Goku to be the hero again, so bringing in Gohan would ruin that since he could curb stomp Kid Boo.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Vegeta doesn't feel like protecting the Earthlings for nothing, so he wants them to at least contribute to defeating the villain.
