In which video games can Ginyu change to any character?
Burst Limit - Any character
Raging Blast 1 - Goku (W/Scouter)
Raging Blast 2 - Goku (W/Scouter)
Ultimate Blast - Goku (W/Scouter)
I can't remember the past games (Budokai/Tenkaichi) because most of the time I'd just rather play as Goku, Gohan, Cell, Freeza or Buu. Although in Burst Limit being able to change bodies with anyone was really cool.
The vocals of each character remained in their own bodies than also swap, so let's say you swapped from Ginyu to Gohan, Gohan's got his original voice than Ginyu's.

in the Budokai games he changes to P2/Coms character and P2 is left as Ginyu. This includes health bars as well.
In Tenkaichi 3 I've only ever seen him become a few characters including but not limited to Krillin, Goku and Vegeta (Scouter)

You can steal the body of your opponent In the first Sparking, including health bars and ki bars. Not sure about blast stocks. I believe It's the only game in the Sparking series where you can effectively become your opponent and not one of a select amount of Frieza Saga characters.
Ultimate Blast is the only game in the Sparking series where Ginyu doesn't have Body Change, but Ginyu Goku is an alternate for him in that game.

Budokai 1 and 2 I think.
Re: In which video games can Ginyu change to any character?
Ginyu should always turn into the opponent character in games. I remember when my brother and I would keep switching bodies over and over again.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Re: In which video games can Ginyu change to any character?
Giving Ginyu the ability to force a change with the opposite player is cheap, and I'm glad they stopped using it. However, the way it was used in BT2/3 was incredibly useless. I like RB2's method (don't know if RB1 did the same): You simply switch with Goku, getting a new health bar and still being able to use your specials.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Is it a cheap move? Yes it is.Saiga wrote:Giving Ginyu the ability to force a change with the opposite player is cheap, and I'm glad they stopped using it. Does it stay true to Ginyu's Change attack? Yes.
Does only being able to change to Goku stay faithful? No.
Technically Ginyu's Change only happened to Goku and Bulma, but overall it's an attack that should be able to be used with any. It's a lot of fun to use it, imo.

For it to be truly faithful, it would have to be a really shitty move (no access to enemy moves and you're weakened severely). And Boo's absorption isn't kept faithful, so neither should Ginyu's body change.

Re: In which video games can Ginyu change to any character?
I have to admit using Body Change in BT1/Sparking on my friend after letting him purposely beat me to near death while he was at full health was always good fun. But it is or was a pretty broken move.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Boo's absorption ability never followed any consistent logic to begin with.Saiga wrote:For it to be truly faithful, it would have to be a really shitty move (no access to enemy moves and you're weakened severely). And Boo's absorption isn't kept faithful, so neither should Ginyu's body change.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

So what? He still isn't given the ability to absorb anyone aside from who he absorbed in the series, except in Budokai 2 (and even then it's just a few extra). He can't absorb the opponent, nor anyone he wants, and Ginyu shouldn't be allowed to do the same with his Body Change.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Boo's absorption ability never followed any consistent logic to begin with.Saiga wrote:For it to be truly faithful, it would have to be a really shitty move (no access to enemy moves and you're weakened severely).
