REQUEST - Spoiler Tags

Post by DBZGTKOSDH » Thu May 30, 2013 6:36 pm

Could we get Spoiler Tags? It's a pain on the ass waiting for over 9000 images to load in topics with lots of pics when all I want to do is read something from below (when the images pop up one after another, it throws me up :x ).
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

If people are not going to bother to post multiple pictures are links instead I do not see why they would bother wrapping those pictures in spoiler tags.

But beautiful topics like this and this will look awful if the images were in links.

I second the request. It would be nice to have spoiler tags to hide large images (and also actual spoilers for things :P )
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Exert the effort to open the links. Just like you would have to exert the effort to open the spoiler tags.

It's not the same in topics like the ones I posted.

I have to agree with DBZGTKOSDH, I think spoiler tags would be useful.

You're going to have to explain why. This isn't saying much of anything.

Because these topics are meant to show & compare images, especially the first one.

This:

Is far better than this:

I agree. I believe I suggested that as well in the past.

I wouldn't be against the addition but I think JulieYBM has a point in that they probably wouldn't be used enough to warrant the inclusion. I don't know how much it takes to add that to an invision message board, though.
[quote="Brakus"]For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.[/quote]

Hurray!
Though I guess the staff didn't want it to act as the usual spoiler tag, eh? The one where you were able to specify the spoiler's "title" or "description".

So, is it safe to use, or will there be alterations? (Wanna use it for Dragon Ball F.)

Alright, after much consideration, I've written a script to incorporate "Spoiler" tags into the forum's BBCode. I was in the midst of testing it out, until someone found it... Who goes around randomly adding spoiler tags anyway? :P I'll be refining it a bit over the next few days, but feel free to start using the tags around the forum.

You can also add a title if you'd like, but it isn't necessary if you don't want to.
I should also go ahead and note, we will not be allowing spoiler tags in your signatures. If you use them, we will delete them. Period.
