For me it's easily Kid Trunks(Present) and Boo Arc Gohan. Present Trunks had to live up to Future Trunks's hype. Which he could't because they came from different lives. Just think Future Trunks could have easily been Present Trunks. Besides why would we want a Future Trunks V2 or have a badass kid? Trunks(Present) is his own character not a copy paste. Now Gohan. The guy who lived his dreams and got bashed for it. Even by Vegeta. People say he should of have been like Future Gohan. But let's be honest 7 years of peace and wanting to be a scholar Gohan had a chance to be a normal kid. He even(Counting anime) had a date

Seeing as we have an overrated thread: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... =7&t=24905 why not the opposite.m

. So I guess living your dreams is wrong . Gohan should be an example. Even though tough times you an still live your dreams. I also don't think none of the humans are underrated(In fact I think 4/6 of them are overrated). Fans praise them all the time.

Yamcha. But that's because he isn't as big of a joke that we make him out to be.
Mr. Satan. I find tons of people hate him for his attitude but I just love it. I find his attitude so funny as he is like a pro wrestler. I kinda think Hulk Hogan when I see him. People are also jealous he is the most powerful being in the multi-verse.
Goten and Trunks. Their power is usually vastly underrated IMO. But more importantly they are so underutilized and don't really do that much.
Boo. He is usually everyone's pick as the worst arc villain. I loved his personality changes as we got several villains in one.
Boo arc Gohan (not Ultimate). Hated for not being as cold as SSJ2 Kid gohan or being like Future Gohan.

Goten, Trunks..... Loved them as a kid when the Buu arc started and they were thrown off pretty much. Also later after DB Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Kuririn with Chaozu being killed off almost instantly.
Just one thing!!! Instead of Trunks or Goten, Goku takes some Somalian kid as a succesor, who is reincarnation of Buu, instead of Goten. Hated that as a kid and GT did me some justice at least with Trunks as Goku's succesor was lying on his back in his poor village, until finally showing up when all the planet was conquered by Tsufuru. Awesome. As TOEI wanted to repair what Toriyama has done with character popularity poll, it created bigest WTF ever as the whole end of Z doesn't make sense in the end up to everyone being finally and completely useless, as Goku was made to kid, to avoid his retirement and stop massacre of planet Earth, as everyone, who have the potential to do something, are lazy slackers. Goten dating retarded chicks and Trunks being ex-junkie as he switched his character with Goten on his last mushroom trip and being forced to be CEO of Capsule. Which he's slacking as well, so he uses his vast Ki potential to fly away from work and do completely nothing.
My two fav childhood characters underrated and humiliated.

Re: Most Underrated Characters
I have to say Yamucha, a lot of his "jobbing" is actually easily rationalized.
Pilaf Arc: He loses to Goku, but so does everyone in this arc lose to him 1-1. He's actually pretty useful here since he helped Goku & Bulma get out of the Boss Rabbit situation, and he & Puar defeated Oozaru Goku.
21st Budokai Arc: Easily defeated by Jackie Chun here, but so were Krillin and Goku.
Red Ribbon Army Arc: While he loses to Mummy-only-for-Goku-to-one-shot-him is somewhat embarrassing, he does get a victory against the Invisible Man. People tend to forget that he actually gained the upper hand in that fight by sensing the Invisible Man's vibrations, then Baba ruined it by singing. So while Yamucha did have have help here, he would have not needed it if Invisible Man had help here.
22nd Budokai Arc: Loses to Tenshinan, the winner of the tournament anyway.
Piccolo Arc: Loses to Kami, but shows promise as a fighter such as his invention of the Spirit Ball.
Saiyan Arc: His "job" to the Saibaman is in fact a myth. To job means to lose, he technically he won the actual fighting part. The aftermath is more of a draw, since they both died.
Cell Arc: While Dr. Gero did one shot him, keep in mind Gero was the big bad of the arc at the time and Yamucha's loss was pretty helpful since he helped discovered the Androids can sense Ki.
Buu Arc: Gets killed by Buu, the same guy who murdered the entire cast outside of Goku.
So, Yamucha's not that bad. Most of his losses are to the guy who dominated the arc anyway, I'd probably say the only time is jobber status bothered me was during the Mummy fight. Toriyama should have let him take that one, instead of allowing Goku to one shot him.

From what I remember, Goku was easily getting done in by Jackie Chun until Chun had to waste his energy blowing up the moon to stop Oozaru Goku, but I'll double check right now.

Yeah, but Buu basically drove him to suicide.Vegeta wasn't killed by Boo. He killed himself.

Goku was more or less fighting evenly with Mr. Jackie. With Jackie having a slight edge
Re: Most Underrated Characters
I just checked the fight now, Goku got a few hits in but for the most part it seemed like Chun had the edge. Hell, Goku would haven fallen for the 10 count had Bulma not woken him up by telling him its dinner time. Point is Yamucha lost to guy in the arc who beat anybody, doesn't look so bad.

I'd say Kuririn. Dude had Goku's back since day one and he's often dismissed as just a whiny meat-shield who dies a lot.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
Re: Most Underrated Characters
1. Majin Buu.
A villain with more depth than what he's usually credited. Kinda sad to see him being trashed aside as the worst villain, while others (Wizard's Magazine rank him as 40th Greatest Villain of All Time).
2. Dende.
As a little Namekian Kid to becoming Guardian of Earth to eventual major character contributing to Buu's defeat often gets un-noticed.
3. Goku.
Widely criticized form abandoning his family for training. Useless father & husband.
But very few come to accept the fact "Goku's training isn't just about him, but also about his family & friends"
Who do most guys rely on when there's a danger?
Which guy do most Z-fighters depend upon when guys like Frieza, Cell & Buu threaten Earth's survival?
In my view, a little training gap which seperates Goku frm his family & kids, ensures the long-term bond with him.
Often gets underappreciated that Goku's objective has always been making people's around him stronger than Goku himself. Be it Gohan (at Cell Games), Goten & Trunks (Buu Arc) or even random indian Kid (Uub).

Re: Most Underrated Characters
Goku. It definitely feels sometimes that the point of the character is lost on people. He's simple, and represents an idea of living without inner demons eating at you. Tenshinhan, Piccolo, and Vegeta all realize this. Goku has no ulterior motives beyond getting stronger. He doesn't want recognition, or money, or to lord superiority over others. The epitome of not paying attention is walking away from DB saying "what a shitty father" or "no one else gets to be important!"

I agree I like Goku too, his optimism and determination are really inspiring. It's like Bulma said in History of Trunks, there's always a feeling everything will be okay when he's around.

Tenshinhan: Truly awesome in original db.
Kuririn: A great character since his debut, this guy have some serious balls of steel
, he always face opponents much more strong then him without hesitation, cunning and very smart, his contribution is Namekusei saga is valuable.
