That would be DBZ movie 2.

I think the dub version of movie 2 (the Pioneer release) is perfect. Unless you really want to hear funimation's current set of voice actors, I'd stick with Pioneer's. The dialogue is fine and they actually use the original BGM as well.

I never noticed it before until recently, but in Pioneer's release of the 1st DBZ Movie, not sure about the other 2, but in the english dub all of the sound effects sound different compared to their japanese counterparts. >_>
Pioneer may keep the dialogue close to the original and the bgm...but damnit...whats up with those punching noises and charge-up sounds.

They're still the best dubbed English Dragon Ball 'things' ever. Most people agree on that.
Where's the beef?

This is entirely true, in Pioneer's release of movie 1, the dub had lots of stupid inserted sound effects that were not present in the Japanese version. Thankfully, their releases of movies 2 and 3 didn't have any inserted sounds. So, for this reason, it may make sense to get the redub of movie 1, since those sounds were removed.

And one was added into the Japanese track.

I hated Ocean's VA's. That's the reason I haven't bought any of the old movies.

Uh..movies 2 and 3 DID have those added sound effects to pull off a "stereo" sound to it as well as Hanna Barbera sound effects in their English dubs. o_O
On subject though, I'm getting hyped for this set. I'll actually be able to own at least one set (I was completely unaware the first Z boxset came out in
2003). Although as mentioned on your site, it is quite baffling that they show things in fullscreen..yet mention that it's in "widescreen" on their info. Let's all hope they're just playing a trick and plan on suprising us with the entire screen being filled.
..Then again, this is Toei we're talking about. x_X;

Well, they've announced it as being Letterboxed, so there's no question that it will be. However, they might have an alternate angle feature, so you can turn the letterboxing off (hopes and prays). Actually, I don't really mind either way, but if they give us alternate angles it'll just be like icing on the cake.

Alternate angles would be so nice, but then again Toei might think otherwise. Though I'll pray with you anyway, in hopes this will actually happen.

Since we know that these are being released in the letterbox format, the question is why is Toei advertising with full screen images? Why Toei? My best guess is they're promotional images they had lying around because I doubt they'd dig out the original source just to make one ad. This is just surprising since all the other ads and trailers have used the letterbox format.
On the other hand, maybe this means Toei does have the original source out and plan on doing alternate angles. Somehow they slipped up and accidentally made an ad with the original source... oops. But who really knows, it could be pointless and means nothing except we're looking into this a little too much. I originally just thought it was interesting that Toei would do that when they've clearly stated this release is in letterbox.

But yanno..wouldn't it be quite a bitch if Toei pulled one of their infamous evil acts and ended up not giving us alternate angles and instead make the fullscreens available on single DVDs of each movie, if they're ever made? x_X;

Wouldn't surprise me.. Toei's been bitchy in the past couple of years. Like making my Sailor Moon collection even harder to finish. Atleast I can just get my manga off Sasuga, but the anime is harder to get...

Indeed. And all because they wanted to be able to try and market the live action version which didn't do so well compared to the anime.

Sorry if this is a horribly n00bish and off topic question, but I am registering an Amazon.co.jp account, and after name, there is something that didn't quite pass through the translator. Under it, it says, "Please input the フリガナ, with katakana or the alphabetical character". What does this mean, and what should I enter in the box?

It reads "furigana". The small kana that tell you how to read a kanji.
Is there a validation or something you have to do?
