Still worth getting into Sparking/Tenkaichi 3?
Do you guys think it would be worth paying Tenkaichi 3 on ps2? It is upwards of 40 american dollars. I really want to play the game I just don't know if it will be worth it in the end.

Re: On budokai Tenakichi 3
$40? Not worth it for me. I have a copy for the Wii my friend gave me for free... after I unlocked everything, have not touched it. Got it on PCSX2, haven't played it in a while. It's boring after a while. If you haven't tried it, I'd say find it for cheaper.vegetaslegacy15 wrote:Do you guys think it would be worth paying Tenkaichi 3 on ps2? I would say the game is more than worth checking out, especially if you mostly want to have fun kicking butt with tons of characters from the franchise...but maybe not for $40. Heck, I don't think I even paid that for it when it first came out. I haven't exactly looked at what the pricing for it usually is, but I can't imagine there's not a couple of cheaper listings somewhere.

I played it back when it first came out, I had it for a few years then me being an idiot sold my ps2 and all my games. Now I have a ps2 again but the price is just so much. I really want to play but then again I bought budokai 3 and it just bores me to pieces. I don't want the same thing to happen with Tenkaichi 3. Especially not if I am paying out the a$$.

Re: Still worth getting into Sparking/Tenkaichi 3?
Not really.
If I were you I'd try other Dragon Ball games out there and wait until 2015 for Xenoverse to be released.
The music is mediocre (except for 5-6 BGMs + OP), graphics are okay, story was done in a rush, most characters are just clones of each other but.. It actually includes Dragon Ball GT and Dr. Slump so not all is bad about Tenkaichi 3.
Also, the grey Gogeta SSJ4 looks really cool.

(Ultimate Blast ver.)

Get the Japanese version for the music alone.

Yeah mns go for it. In my eyes it's definitely worth it. I still play BT3 with my friends to this day. It's a lot of fun. Not nearly as "all characters are exactly the same" as a lot of people say.

Or you could fork out money on Tenkaichi 2 for probably less than half the price, which is pretty much the same game anyway. And with Xenoverse coming out? Definitely not worth it IMO

Yeah I hate it when people say BT3 had no variety in the way the characters feel. To me its like the quintessential DBZ game. Yeah some characters did play the same but most of the time they didn't. I just wish it was up to date with all the new content added to the DBZ universe. Then I would definitely buy it.Dbzfan94 wrote:Yeah mns go for it. In my eyes it's definitely worth it. I like the game, but I wouldn't pay upwards of $40 if I didn't have someone to play it with.
If you can take advantage of the multiplayer, I'd say go for it.

I say yes. It puts all of the PS3 and other next gen DBZ games to shame and has the best playable character roster of any DB game ever made.

$40... if you're lucky or it's a loose copy. I dropped $55 recently for it on eBay. I don't regret it, but I wish I had kept it when it came out originally.

I don't know. I like the Budokai Tenkaichi games as much as the next guy but I don't think the games are really that diverse. You can easily switch from one to another without much difficulty. The Raging Ass series tried to rectify the similar feeling from the characters with the cancel system and such but it's combat wasn't nearly as immersive.vegetaslegacy15 wrote:Yeah I hate it when people say BT3 had no variety in the way the characters feel. Anyways, I'd say it's a reasonable price considering this game is practically collector's item now and well worth the price for a fan of the series.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
Re: Still worth getting into Sparking/Tenkaichi 3?
yes, I JUST got bt3 and it is a lot harder to get use to than raging blast and I like the cartoony graphics better. it is worth getting for the sake of saying you have it and can understand what all of the hype is about. not sure what your price range is I was willing to pay up to 100, maybe more if it was brand new, only payed 50 at GameStop. however if you don't have the same flexibility financially its up to you. seems pretty rare so get it if you can.
I don't know what systems you have but if you can give rb2 a try, definitely get budokai 3. haven't played infinite world but they seem the same just more gt characters.
