I don't know about you guys, but I think the "unfashionable clothing" is what makes Dragon Ball so great.

The most prominent examples that both ANN and Hachima Kikou used are Vegeta's "BADMAN" shirt and Piccolo's "POSTBOY" shirt.

Fans Vote For Series With the Most Unfashionable Everyday Clothing
The world of anime and manga has plenty of noteworthy costumes, from battle armor to team jerseys and school uniforms galore. But sometimes when the characters are just hanging out with their friends in everyday clothing, or gracing the covers of CDs and promo posters, their wardrobe choices aren't so fashionable.
Japanese portal site Goo asked its readers which anime series had the un-coolest everyday clothing.
Here's the top ten:
- 1. Dragon Ball
2. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
3. Prince of Tennis
4. Neon Genesis Evangelion
5. Mobile Suit Gundam 00
6. Bleach & Hunter x Hunter
8. Higurashi
9. K-ON!
10. Kuroko's Basketball

I don't get how K-ON made the list, but in regards to DB, DB is subject to the fashion of it's era. That's the late 1980's to early-mid 1990's. That's just how fashion was back then; neons and short shorts, legwarmers, big hair, etc. I don't think it's fair of the poll to put its clothes against contemporary shows' clothes. Fashion's a fluid, constantly changing thing.

Exactly, the fashion in dragon ball is a reflection of the era it was produced in. Clothes like that were the social norm.
Bleach and HxH though? This list of is kind of stupid...

It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

I saw this list and thought it was only for troll. Still do.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

...I don't see how anything anyone wore in Dragon Ball is even half as bad as the
fashion crimes committed by Mamoru in Sailor Moon.
I'm not sure how they came up with this list. I've seen a lot of the ones listed, and I don't remember the clothes being jarringly bad (well, except the Gundam series...there are definitely questionable fashion choices throughout that whole franchise). I might understand if it were all 80s/90s series, because, you know, kids these days! But they've got recent stuff like K-ON! and Kuroko's Basketball listed too, so...
But anyway, the Bad Man shirt is Bad ASS. How could anyone knock it? Most of the characters are shown in their fighting uniforms most of the time, so whenever they're shown wearing something different, I'm all for it!

The Sailor Moon cast in general has pretty bad fashion until SuperS and Stars.

I don't think I've ever seen an anime series with "fashionable clothing". Let's just say they're all tied for first.

If Bulma was real she sure ain't gonna like this.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.
I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about
your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Trunks is the only guy I know who can pull off the bowl cut and trousers up to his armpits.
Also what's with the tracksuits in the new films, is this fashionable in Japan or does Toriyama just like tracksuits?
