Raging Blast 2 VS Xenoverse

Post by PrinceVegetto » Mon Feb 16, 2015 2:44 pm

I haven't played either game but I'm definitely gonna be playing Xenoverse. I wanted to know if I should check out Raging Blast 2 as well. So out of these 2 games, which one is better and why?

Xenoverse.

I don't like the Raging Blast games much. They feel like watered down versions of BT3 with slow-paced, and boring combat but Xenoverse seems pretty good despite all it's faults plus Dimps' behind it so expect substance.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Xenoverse, hands down.

The only thing that Raging Blast 2 has over Xenoverse is the roster. Xenoverse has better gameplay, a better soundtrack, a much better singleplayer/story mode and much more replay value. Raging Blast 2 is a poor man's version of Tenkaichi 2/3.

I do like certain things about RB2 as far as gameplay and presentation, I did have fun when I played it... but as a full package of a Dragon ball game it falls way short.

Xenoverse not only looks much better, the gameplay seems smooth, brings a fresh new (kinda) story, character creation with loads of fanservice for customization, lovely OST... it's no question that's a better deal.

No Dragon Ball game is perfect, keep that in mind.

Well since your already getting Xenoverse, I'd say you should check out RB2 as well at some point down the line. The demo is still on PSN/XBL iirc. You should download that and see how you like it first.

Raging Blast 2 wasn't a bad game. It just had some annoying things that sort of ruined it like no real story mode, having to button-mash your way out of falls, the big combos being made useless by the CPU teleporting out of them all the time on higher difficulty settings and not the best menus for a DBZ game. The roster was good, the graphics were great, and so was the music if you got an original copy(although the BT2 score isn't a bad alternative at all).

If I'm being honest I actually preferred Raging Blast 1 to 2. It had a good story that covered pretty much every fight from Raditz to Kid Buu, and had some really imaginative what-if stories. It was also fun replaying the story to unlock all of the stars through challenges. The menus looked much better in Raging Blast 1 and I liked the cartoony look the models had. If I had to give both games a rating i'd give RB1 7.5/10 and RB2 7/10.

I've yet to play Xenoverse, but knowing Dimps it should be great.

XV is better in terms of the story while RB2 in terms of everything else.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

The Raging Blast games sucked ballz... Dragon ballz

The first one was a stripped down, bare bones version of the Tenkaichi games with improved graphics. Though despite the improved cell shaded graphics Burst Limit, a game that came out before it, still looked superior. They carried over some PS2 Tenkaichi animations that might have been good during the PS2 era but looked stiff, lifeless and lazy as hell in full blown HD. Don't even get me started on the retarded looking angry face talking animation.

Raging Blast 2 improved the character roster by including movie characters and Hatchiyack which was a nice novelty. They managed to fix some annoying gameplay elements from the first one (no longer having to awkwardly twirl the analogue stick to stop falling) as well as the camera being able to follow the action better. Despite the small improvements they somehow made the graphics look even worse than RB1 as all the characters looked like shiny ceramic dolls which was a terrible way to visually represent the characters from the series. On top of that there's no story mode but by this point I had played the story a million times so I didn't care.

Last gen was truly the dark ages for DBZ games, it only got worse with Ultimate Tenkaichi, Battle of Z and the Kinect garbage. If you compare the RB games to those then it looks great but in truth they were very poor games especially for their time.

From what little I've seen and played of Xenoverse it's far superior to those garbage games. You'd have more fun playing the PS2 era DBZ games.
