Can Shenron revive people that have been dead for more than a year, and if not then when and where in the story is this mentioned? I know many people who take this restriction as fact, and I used to as well until I realized that I cannot remember a single mention of this from when I read through the manga.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I searched the forums but couldn't find anything specific, but if it's not a problem could someone help?
Does Shenron have a one year limit on revival wishes?
Re: Does Shenron have a one year limit on revival wishes?
Only several people can't be revived within a year. An individual can be revived as much from any time period so long as they didn't die naturally, or arguably weren't reincarnated already.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Not saying that I don't believe you, but you wouldn't happen to possibly know what manga chapter or story arch this is first mentioned in, would you?dbzfan7 wrote:Only several people can't be revived within a year. Re: Does Shenron have a one year limit on revival wishes?
It's in chapter 321 (DBZ chapter 127 in the Viz version). It's during the Super Saiyan Goku/Freeza fight, when they're working out the wish to revive everyone killed by Freeza. Kaio hypothetically asks if they could use the Earth's dragon balls to revive everyone killed by Vegeta and Nappa, even if they're on planets far away from Earth, and the reply is that it's possible but it would be limited to those who died within the last year. It's the only time in the entire series that a year limit on reviving people is mentioned, and it's mentioned only in connection with reviving a gigantic group of people. It's also immediately followed by Kaio asking Yamcha and co. if they're OK with having their own resurrection postponed for a long time, and they're fine with it (Yamcha even says "sure, it's only a year!"). If the one year limit applied to individual people, this would obviously be a really, really bad idea for all them, but it's not treated that way at all.fdsfgs71 wrote:Not saying that I don't believe you, but you wouldn't happen to possibly know what manga chapter or story arch this is first mentioned in, would you?
