Beelzebub from Sandland is Dabra´s son?

Okay I feel almost silly for asking since I read this on Dragoball Wiki but... they wrote there that Beelzebub from Sandland is Dabra´s son. I always knew there were theories like that based on the fact that his father does resemble Dabra but yeah, it was only every a theory. But given the recent trend of Toriyama revealing all sorts of trivia and retcons I wouldnt be surprised if he confirmed this too.

So what I´m asking is, is this true?? Was this confirmed?

No. It's just them assuming that since he looks like Dabra, he must be Dabra...even though Toriyama has a habit of reusing designs in other series.

Sandland is not apart of the Dragon Ball universe. Toriyama likes to reuse character designs. Even Tights is a complete carbon-copy design of Dragon Quest V's Bianca.

Sand Land is set on Earth, or at least an extremely Earth-like planet, mostly inhabited by humans but with a village of demons (and also the Peach people). There's even mention of both Japanese and Western demons (holy water only works on the latter). I guess you could try and squeeze it into the same world as DB, but it strikes me as more trouble than it's worth.

Also, I checked and the Dabra-lookalike is indeed named "Satan". He's also huge, almost Enma Daio-sized. Maybe he's Dabra's big brother.

Not really. It would be set in the island chains to the east of the Eastern Continent (like where Dr Slump, Wonder Island, etc, are set). Everything we learn about the history of Sandland gets revealed to be propaganda at the end, anyway.

For the longest time, my headcanon was that this Satan was the reincarnation of Dabra until I recalled that he was sent to Heaven instead of to Hell.

We can get meta and say that Sandland is a prequel to Dragon Ball and Beelzebub is Dabura as a kid, and when he grew up he looked exactly like his father, as most children do. Then Dabura is actually a title rather than a name.

No, it's a direct romanization from the Japanese name. "Dabura" is how you would say the word "Dabra" in Japanese.

The dub does that weird thing where it stresses the "u" in his name, but there's nothing wrong with the spelling.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I figured as much, but yeah, you never know what bombs Toriyama may drop whenever youre not looking.

While I personally like to imagine that Dabra has a son that happens to look just like Beelzebub (Abraca? ),I wouldnt want to squeeze the Sandland canon itself into Dragonball canon.

It was fun with Dr. Slump cause that ones so silly it cna be anywhere if tis funny enough, but Sandland had a more "serious" tone to it, or rather Toriyama´s flavor of serious, and idk the relationship between demons and humans was so important to its story, it´d be weird to foce it into a universe where there´s probably most of space between demons and humans.

Just re-read COWA! so I thought I'd point this out: Leonardo also has a near-identical facial structure and is a demon-y villain like Dabra.
