Like most fans I grew up playing DB games. In general I like fighting games and Tekken is my favorite. What if namco got their hands on DB?? If done right I think it would be cool to have a game where the controls are simple but it would take time to master like on Tekken. All though I imagine it might be watered down and more focused on the martial arts of DB with each character having their own unique styles. If they incorporate a Kamehameha or any other popular blast by pulling off certain combos it might work. I cant imagine they can do every technique though. Also besides that if Capcom was to get there hands on it and made it like Street Fighter/MvC, I think this game play would be the most compatable for DB since it is more fast paced and flashy, I know the creators of SF did Super DBZ back in 06 which I liked at the time but I would prefer it if it was more like the actual SF game play. Even DBZ in MK style can probably be pulled off too if done right as I imagine that they would have it like injustice and make the characters similar to how they made Superman, and GL.
Anyways this is just a thought for fun I love Xenoverse and the Budokai and BT series as well. What do you guys think if DB was like other fighting game styles?
Next Gen DBZ Game Tekken Style?
Re: Next Gen DBZ Game Tekken Style?
To be honest I prefer the Budokai and Xenoverse gameplay styles. Why not just play Street Fighter mods with DBZ characters? I just can't imagine it selling very well with the current fanbase.
DragonFlick Z 2.0 in the works.. if you are a Dragonball Youtuber, feel free to get in touch.

Super Dragonball Z sold very well. a lot better than what you'd think a "Street Fighter Mod" would go for. Loved that game.VeggieXD wrote:To be honest I prefer the Budokai and Xenoverse gameplay styles. Why not just play Street Fighter mods with DBZ characters? Tekken is way too complicated a system, and yes I am biased because my friends been kicking my ass with that series since Tekken 4. Really, you're not selling a videogame with the anime elements, you're selling an anime with videogame elements, so you can't get too crazy with the mechanics. Well, maybe you could, but it could turn off those who only want to play the game for Dragonball Z. Only hardcore fighters, fans of DBZ or otherwise would grab the game if it gets to Tekken complications.
If Dragonball Z should emulate another fighting game's mechanics, it should be similar to the MvC series, those games play like something out of DBZ anyways

To me, Budokai is pretty much DBZ's answer to Tekken even though it's not nearly as complicated. Budokai 3 and Infinite World have the competitive potential out of any DBZ fighter IMO especially if you know how to cancel.
Unfortunately, only a few people actually know how to play Budokai.

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Give me Super Dragon Ball Z on a 2D plane and I'll be pretty happy. I mean, I could take Xenoverse with more depth, too, but I'd prefer the former.
