I freakin' love this guy. But he's a total mystery! We know he's the king of Fry-Pan mountain, but we get very little/contradicting information about him.
At first he's made out to be this super evil, bloodthirsty barbarian of a king, but then you realize he's a big softy. Was he really that evil, but just happened to be nice to Goku and pals because they could help him? Was it just rumors? How did they start? We know he has a treasure, because he is a king so why not?
In the anime we see that his village does have subjects. But how do they view him? Do they pay him taxes? Is that why he's rich?
It get's kind of confusing from here.
After Goku and ChiChi get married we never see his kingdom or mention of him ruling ever again? So was ChiChi a princess? Shouldn't she be Queen? Can't she not be Queen because she married a peasant?
We see Gyumao give Gohan lots of gifts in the anime so it can be assumed he's well off, probably living off his treasure. In the Boo Arc, Chichi mentions that Gohan winning the tournament would be a good thing because "money from pa" is running out. Has he always been supporting them? Or was it only since Goku died? If it was always why is it running out? Is he truly running out of money? How? He's a king! What type of horrible economy is he running where a king is poor? Is he just being stingy?
Why do Gohan/ChiChi need money anyway? Gohan can always hunt. Goku didn't have a job and they got along fine. This leads me to believe it's been a thing since they got married?
So anyway those are my thoughts. What do you guys think? Any theories or info from guidebooks I need to know about?
So what's the deal with Gyumao?

DB earth was divided into factions, all the sectors weren't truly controlled by the existing government .
Oxe king is a king by title alone he doesn't have a Kingdom anymore. I assume the with pilaf, just like how vegeta is a prince but no one acknowledges his birth right apart from himself.

So apparently, you don't live in a house..?

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Ox king was brutal and so on,however he was master roshi's pupil so after he learned that goku and co were with roshi he viewed them differently, plus goku married his daughter so ofc hed be soft with him.MarCas92 wrote:I freakin' love this guy. And in the manga chi chi says when gohan tells her about the tournamnet that the money father(ox king) left them is almost gone.So basically goku and chi chi were living off ox king's money ^^.

You've got your answer. Goku can hunt and gather wood, but what about clothing and Gohan's education? Why do Gohan/ChiChi need money anyway? Gohan can always hunt. Goku didn't have a job and they got along fine. This leads me to believe it's been a thing since they got married?
I don't remember how it is in manga, but wasn't he something akin to robber baron?
Journey to the WestAny theories or info from guidebooks I need to know about?
"King" is a part of the name that in my release translates as "Bull Demon King". Lots of demonic characters from this book have "king" or "princess" in their name and that doesn't indicate that they rule any land. Here he became a friend of Sun Wukang who in return tried to steal his wife's fan, beat her savagely and then twisted the situation so it looked like he is a victim. Wukang was a kind of jerkass
