Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
Like which do you prefer, the Japanese Portrayal or the English dub, more innocent Portrayal for instance?

Anything but his BOG and Super portrayal.

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
Although I like the character a lot, I can't stand any of the voices in any of the 3 dubs I've seen (LatAM, English, Jap). If I had to pick I'd have to say English is the most tolerable for me. So I guess Manga?

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
I always found the FUNi dub of Fat Boo as more charming and childish. As far as on screen appearances go, I thought Fat Boo's best portrayal was in the filler post-Majin Boo arc and in GT.

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
GT and that episode after the Buu saga, where Mr. Buu walks around the city and buys ice cream, are his best portrayals. In that filler episode, he was shown to be very obedient of Mr. Satan, calming himself down before he throws a tantrum, remembering Mr. Satan's scold, and trying to find a way to buy what he wants. He's a kid at heart, but a good one. In EoZ and GT, he's shown to care deeply for Mr. Satan, allowing him to win the tournament, and even stopping Majuub, through his subconscious, to allow his friend the chance to obtain his victory once again.
In Super, he's a ****ing unlikable asshole. Terrible character, overall.
As for voices, I like almost all dub voices better. Buu included. He sounds cute, and like an actual child, not a fat, obese sumo guy.

Buu's best portrayal was in the EoZ filler and in GT. The way he's been acting in Super is really starting to piss me off...
As for voices, I prefer the dub.

I like both the Japanese and Latin Spanish versions.
As for his character: everything of the Buu arc, filler and BoG.
Super's Buu is not cool

Kōzō Shioya, for sure. I used to like Josh Martin's portrayal, but I seem to like it less and less as time goes on...
Also, yes, he's really been a jerk in Super, but that's really always been in his character. He's always been pretty self-centered.

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
The Japanese version, cause of how it can be childish and extremely creepy. While english Boo sounds like a moron.
He was great in Z and sweet in the filler eps. He's also good in GT. He's ok in Battle of Gods I suppose, but terrible in Super. He shoulda just kept to liking fighting and he'd have kept his relevancy.

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
I guess I should have worded that differently; he's a likeable character, but he's pretty self-centered. He's been a jerk in BoG and Super by not giving Beerus and Whis pudding, but he would have done the same thing in Z. He's always been like that.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Citation, please...?DoomieDoomie911 wrote:Also, yes, he's really been a jerk in Super, but that's really always been in his character. I prefer all English voices, but Boo's Japanese voice has been growing on me since Super started. At first I was totally put off by how different it was, but now I kinda get where they were going with it.

The Japanese voice for Buu sounds a lot like Marge Simpson these days.

No, but he is just as selfish in Z. Hopefully we'll get to see some EoZ-like Boo as Super goes on.DBZAOTA482 wrote:He hasn't shown any redeeming qualities.

In Super, Fat Buu has no redeeming qualities, unlike in Z and GT.

Re: Best Fat Buu Portrayal?
I can't stand that high pitched dub voice. There's nothing cute or charming about it, it doesn't help that the acting is terrible and the dialog is awful "Why you no like Buu?"
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

Kozo Shioya by a pretty wide margin. I don't have an aggressive hate-boner for Josh Martin, but it's essentially dumbing down an already dumb character. Justin Cook just growls.
