What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
Just think on it.... what would you upon meeting this legend?

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I don't really need to think about it. There's a lot of stuff I'd love to ask him about, but the last thing I'd want to do with a meeting like this is annoy the piss out of the person. So, via translator or whatever, I'd just tell him thank you for the series that defined my childhood and that I've enjoyed all his other works as well. The meeting would be enough, but I'd also be open to a sketch/autograph too, if he was willing.
Re: What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
The countless interviews have proven that asking anything specific about Dragon Ball would be a fool's errand. I would get introspective. What makes you you? What are the defining moments of your life, and how does that shade or color your work? Will you truly never draw a full comic again?
And if he was up to it, a drawing of Lunch would be nice.

I did meet him in person, but I didn't get to talk to him. He was on stage with Chris Sabat in that rare U.S. public appearance from the early 2000's. This predates the iphone so nobody even took pictures of it.

Well, for one thing, would he even be able to understand me, as I can't speak Japanese?
Dismissing that road bump though...hmm. I guess if anything, I'd just thank him profusely for creating so many great and enjoyable stories, and especially stress the importance of Dragon Ball in my life. I'd hate to come off super nerdy (well...more so than I am...), and I'd also hate to embarrass the man, but I'd probably also mention that I even owe him/Dragon Ball for ever even meeting my best friend/girlfriend/future wife. Which will never not amuse me given how thoroughly un-romantic Dragon Ball is.

Honestly, I'd like him to see the adulation of western DB fans with his own eyes. He constantly says he doesn't realize just how big the franchise is, so I'd love for him to appear during the premiere of a future DBZ/Super movie or major convention to see how passionate foreigners are about his work.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Same thing I did when I met Schemmel. Tell him I'm a fan, tell him I'm an artist, maybe try and get a pic, move along lol.
I highly doubt he wants to hear anything Dragon Ball related while he isn't working.

Ask him out to lunch, my treat.
Re: What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
I'd ask him not to make Goku/Vegeta surpass Beerus and Whis
Re: What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
I'd ask him what his thought process was on RoF.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
I'd ask questions he probably does remember answers to. Like if King Cold can transform, what the real multipliers are since I don't hold daizenshuu on a pedestal. I'd record his answer to Gogeta Vs vegito and Goku ss4 vs ssjgod ssj to end the arguing. That all depends on things I know.
Any post before 8/7/2016 isn't mine. This account was a gift from someone who thought the account was already banned. Saved me the trouble of making a new one haha XD

I would ask him for his E-Mail Adress.

After thanking him for the stories he has created, I'd probably ask for a photograph with the man. He may refuse, since he seems like a really introverted person, so I'd ask for an autograph instead. And at the risk of sounding greedy, if he had the time and disposition to do so of course, I'd also like to ask for him to draw me in his his style.

I'd ask him to make Gohan cool again. Or bring back the Great Saiyaman as a recurring character.
Oh, and Karin too.

Re: What would you do if you met Toriyama-sensei in person?
As much as I would just like to say I'm a fan and thank him for such a wonderful series, I would very much tempted to ask him about how the timeline is laid out and if he considers the new additions not made by him (GT, Heroes, Xenoverse, Online, etc) to be on their own or all on one timeline (as that's what Toei seems to imply imho). I know he considered GT a sidestory but does that make it canon? Tbh I have no idea what is even canon anymore, what with certain contradictory events happening in the DB Super tie-in manga.
