Find it unusual Gohan has suddenly shrunk in his muscle mass? I'm not complaining but the character designers seem to have forgotten what Gohan had stored underneath his Gi lol.

It's just the crappy new art style. The same happened with Mr. Satan.

But really, I wouldn't be surprised if Gohan's new skinny build is actually commented on in-universe. Toriyama just gave Gohan the boot by not having him participate in Champa's tournament. lol.

Also, to be fair with GT, I believe the Perfect Files stated that Gohan trained all those years. So who knows...maybe he gets motivated again after Super.

The one thing i can appreciate GT for is keeping the characters on model and on proper character portrayal. Even though he got his ass kicked most of the time, I loved Gohan in GT.

Gohan has literally went from hero to zero.

But, like..Gohan never trained for 7 years after cell and he was still built like a tank, he could also transform into a SSJ with ease as shown against the robbers.

Gohan looks fine for a character who doesn't fight anymore.

What I can't stand is what they did to Krillin. He looks like a little kid now, barely any older than Trunks. He's not just shorter than he's ever been before, he literally looks like a kid.

It's the art style change. Everyone looks skinnier. Mr. Satan also took a hit.

Haha, I have a poster with all the original designs and when I compare them to Supers, I just laugh in disappointment. Krillin is much taller and bulkier. Piccolo looks like Piccolo. Vegeta has his purple ting to his hair, urgh.

Yeah I really don't like the new art style. While I don't think bulkier = better (I like the rounder art style), the new art just looks bad.

CG gohan had better built. I'm not saying he must be bulky, but still, he must not look like a toothpick.

I say if it doesn't involve people complaining about Gohan's character in the future, then I think people can make as many Gohan threads as they want.

As for the topic, I think it fits for Gohan, since he really doesn't fight anymore. It has nothing to do with the artstyle, even though I hate the new art style. I'm now asking why didn't Gohan look like that in the Buu saga since he slacked off.

Maybe the bulky build in the Boo saga comes from just training (with Goten) a little bit? And in GT (I never watched it so I might be wrong) he maybe had to use his strength, like when his body was used by Bebi.

It has nothing to do with the art style. Goku and Vegeta are still buff, both in Toriyama's illustrations and Super. Gohan looks like that on purpose, to illustrate the fact that he's now a weakling.

I think it's because the new animation style doesn't mesh well with DBS, if we had to old original animation style from the 90s that we had in DBZ it'd probably still be the same.

Despite the fact that I feel that a lot of the Gohan hate is annoying and mainly just overreactions, I'm definitely inclined to agree with you here. I don't think we should necessarily stop people from making making topics like these as the whole point of a forum is for a bunch of people to express opinions about certain things and that it's always important to at least hear the other person out despite the fact that you might disagree.

I think artstyle though does play some sort of role into the whole thing. I mean the Freeza arc and onward was known for bulging muscles and a slightly more mature look. I mean look at Gohan when he was like a 5 to 6 year old on Namek. I might be wrong, but the kid was crazy buff for his age and looked a bit mature for his age especially when next to Kuririn. I feel like there's a reason why Funimation could get away with saying Gohan was 14 during the Cell Games for so long. However, despite that, like you I don't mind Gohan being skinny in his most recent appearance (though I do feel like they slightly overdid it a bit) as he really probably hasn't trained at all since Boo. If anything I have something against Gohan being so buff in the Boo arc. I mean the kid is supposed to look like a nerd and yet he has bulging muscles? It's the whole Superman glasses thing all over again.

You know, here's another thing I'm thinking about. Since the TC brought up GT Gohan after the Super one, let's say that GT is after Super. I think that Gohan probably worked on his body again for either two reasons. One is that he's back fighting while bein' a family man, or two, him and Videl got into an argument about Gohan's physique, so Gohan built himself up just for her. Oh, AND for better sex!
