What if Toriyama created a sister for Goku?

What if Akira Toriyama creates a sister for Goku in the future? Would you love the idea, or hate it?

Imagine if she look like a teenage version of Gine. She makes her way to earth somehow, and becomes an ally to the Z warriors.

If Gokû had a sister she'd need to be older than him though, since he was a baby/toddler when Planet Vegeta blew up.

I think it'd be hard to do a 6th surprise sibling story. We've already had Raditz in Z proper, then in semi-quick succession Tarble in JF08, Tights in GPJ, and Champa and Vados in Super.

I'm not really against it if the character ends up being interesting , but I think we've exhausted the long lost sibling trope these past few years. Goku had one, Vegeta has one and now, weirdest one by far, Bulma has one.

While I also don't think the series needs more saiyans, the idea that more than a handful survived always seemed more than plausible to me. I don't think it was ever stated that Freeza made sure every last one was on the planet when he decided to blow it up, and even if, there are many ways they could have ewscaped

After the Saiyan saga, we had Turles, Paragus, Broli, Onio from Neko Majin and Tarble. I think that's enough if you ask me.

Hmm, somehow I didn't think of the movie saiyans. As I said, I'm also think we have enough running around, but the story allows for there to be more easily.

Honestly, while I've longed form the idea of prominent female Saiyan (sorry Gine), I think the idea of Goku having a long lost brother and sister would be a bit overkill for my personal taste.

What could a sister bring to Goku's character, or the story as a whole, that Raditz hasn't brought already? An evil Saiyan would be just a rehash of Raditz and a good/gentle Saiyan would just further destroy Goku's character after Minus, plus there'd be no point since it would add absolutely nothing to Goku's character or the story as a whole.

The more Saiyans we have the more Super Saiyans we have. If the the entire Planet Vegeta and Saiyan race was wished back to life they'd all have to be Super Saiyans to be releveant.

Yeah, pretty much everything this guy said. A sister for Goku would at best be a minor nothing-character or at worst someone who messes with the character origins of Goku. Either way, people would complain about how she's underutilized as a female character or detrimental to the overall story. I actually don't mind the sibling out of nowhere story so long as it's done right. I wouldn't mind seeing Yamucha's brother or Tenshinhan's sister so long as it works for the story and is enjoyable. However, in the case of Goku I just can't see it properly panning out.

Besides I'm pretty sure now it's Kuririn's turn to have a sibling somewhere that nobody ever knew about.

There are many ways you could make it work. You could write something like Goku regretting killing Radditz somewhat, thinking that if Vegeta could change anybody could, and try to bond with here. Just out of the top of my head. It's doable.

Do you see Goku really going through the trouble though? I'm not gonna say that Goku's a shallow character that only cares about getting stronger, but he definitely isn't the type of character to dwell on things like these. It's definitely doable for Toriyama or Toei to put in a Goku sister character, but I think the bigger question we have to ask ourselves is would we even want that?

The only reason they'd introduce a female Saiyan is so she can spit out more Saiyan hybrids. They'd probably turn her Super Saiyan as well for shock value.

It would be a pretty desperate move.

I don't really want an additional sibling for Goku at this point (if we got it, I'd be fine depending on if it was a fun character and all, but still), but it definitely could have proven interesting if Raditz had been his older sister rather than his older brother. Then again, if things had went down the exact same way just with a female Raditz...ehh...

As he is written now? Not really. It's a little frustrating with how we barely ever see him show interest in anything other than fighting. As I said, I'm not against the idea in general, as long as the execution is okay, as long as the character is interesting and entertaining and brings something new to the story it could be Goku's long lost daughter for all I care.

But as I said, we have no shortage of saiyans

If it happened, life would move on after the initial cheers and groans. If we were to get a female Saiyan, I'd rather they just throw GT out the window and develop Pan in the adventurous, ultra-strong direction she was going in at the end of the manga. Being Gohan's kid, she'd likely be at least somewhat scholarly but she'd mostly be like Goku.

In essence, she would be what everyone wants Gohan to be: an intelligent, polite Goku.

Not a good idea. We already have far too many surviving Saiyans and, as others have said, the "forgotten sibling" trope has been used far too many times already.
