Captain Ginyu
When I look at the original DBZ series, Ginyu as everybody knows appears on Namek with that purple, tall, horned, and muscular alien body.
I honestly think that since he knew how to use the body change technique, I don't think that body we saw on Namek was his original body.
I mean, how can one learn such a technique without ever using it on someone?
Thoughts?

Re: Captain Ginyu
It's definitely an interesting Idea but there's no evidence so far that it wasn't his own body so it's just left up to the people whether they want to believe it or not. It's funny because until super it never crossed my mind that he could be a body thief.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

It's outright stated in supplemental material. Sauza knows his true form.

To be exact, the Coola hechmen bios featured in Weekly Jump before DBZ movie 5 came out detail that Sauza and Ginyu competed for leadership of the Armored Squad and that Sauza is one of the few people who knows Ginyu's original body. Then Daizenshuu 7's bio for Ginyu likewise mentions how few people know his original body.

I've got a question, then: How is Ginyu even in Super? When Buu destroyed the Earth, Ginyu was killed in the destruction and when the dragon was summoned, wasn't only the good people of Earth wished back to life? How is he alive since he is by no means a good person as demonstrated throughout the series AND inside the frog again?Herms wrote:To be exact, the Coola hechmen bios featured in Weekly Jump before DBZ movie 5 came out detail that Sauza and Ginyu competed for leadership of the Armored Squad and that Sauza is one of the few people who knows Ginyu's original body. Re: Captain Ginyu
It could be the fact that he's a frog when he was revived, rather than a person, and Polunga didn't judge an animal's intentions as good or evil like he would a person. Alternately, given that he's been in the frog body for so long, and thus not able to really do any real harm, that the amount of "evil" Polunga sees that he's done in well over a decade wasn't enough to warrant leaving him dead. Lastly, maybe Polunga saw him being stuck as a frog a suitable enough punishment for his actions, moreso than what he might get in Hell.ShadowBardock89 wrote:I've got a question, then: How is Ginyu even in Super? Re: Captain Ginyu
Or maybe when they were doing this arc, the creators of Super forgot about that wish.

Re: Captain Ginyu
The wish is also specifically worded to bring back everyone except the "extremely" evil people, so Ginyu might just count as "evil" but not "extremely evil" under whatever ethical system Shenlong is going by. Presumably Pilaf and co. get saved by the same standard.

Re: Captain Ginyu
Wasn't there some material before that said Ginyu's first bodyswap was on a classmate of his, and had an illustration of him having a purple body with horns? I recall seeing something like that before. It was the same thing that explained Burter's speed came from doing deliveries/chores, Guldo using his time freeze to peep and Recoome having taken ballet to explain his poses and all.
I probably sound like I'm tripping but I'm sure there was a thing about that... I just can't remember what it was exactly...

It was a little special strip explaining the Ginyu Force members special abilities and mannerisms.Kamicciolo wrote:Wasn't there some material before that said Ginyu's first bodyswap was on a classmate of his, and had an illustration of him having a purple body with horns? You forgot Jheese who was a baseball pitcher, explaining his Crusher Ball technique.

All those strips came from the stratergy guide of the 1992 video game, Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu.dbgtFO wrote:It was a little special strip explaining the Ginyu Force members special abilities and mannerisms.Kamicciolo wrote:Wasn't there some material before that said Ginyu's first bodyswap was on a classmate of his, and had an illustration of him having a purple body with horns? Re: Captain Ginyu
I always had my origin on Ginyu. My idea is that Ginyu is a member of a humanoid pod people. I remember I did a design of him of being a humanoid seed. In the Invasion of the Body Snatchers, you had space alien pods that can steal and snatch other bodies. So I always had that idea in my head for a long time. I also believe Ginyu got the purple, tall, horned, and muscular alien body on a mission while Freeza was about to blow up Planet Vegeta. It can explain why the Ginyu Force was not seen with Freeza in Bardock: The Father of Goku.

Re: Captain Ginyu
Well you got to remember that it's non-canon in regards to Sauza.omaro34 wrote:I had no idea either. Learn something new every day.samuraix123 wrote:Really? I had no idea. And regards to canon, it's highly likely that Ginyu stole another body from Freeza's army. He seems to not really care about taking over the body of Tagoma despite being on the same side so to speak. But on the other hand he was a frog and was desperate to get a humanoid body back.
