Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
Or was it merely a bluff that Kaioshin bought into?
Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
Most likely a bluff. I think Goku would have knocked him out though if Kaioshin hadn't moved. But Kaioshin should be able to know whether someone is bluffing or not as he could read minds. The mind-reading ability though should have never existed as it served no purpose whatsoever.

I have this strange image in my mind of Kaioshin defiantly battling against an irritated Goku while Vegeta and Gohan awkwardly monitor from below. The final result is Kaioshin incapacitating Goku, then Vegeta flying into a rage and murdering the exhausted Kaioshin. What occurs afterwards is unknown since Gohan is an emotional wild card.

Even at that point in time, Super Saiyan Goku was leagues stronger than the Eastern Supreme Kai, and only with his Telekinesis, could the Supreme Kai even dare to hope of incapacitating someone almost as strong as Perfect Cell.Lionel wrote:I have this strange image in my mind of Kaioshin defiantly battling against an irritated Goku while Vegeta and Gohan awkwardly monitor from below. Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
He was bluffing. It's classic DB stuff. Even Vegeta was bluffing when he pretended to be shocked. When they teleport away they immediately start smiling to each other before their fight, which shows that Goku wasn't angry all that much and that all they wanted was to fight each other.
Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
It's a bluff, but it's effective in communicating to Kaioshin how determined he is to fight Vegeta.
At worst, I can believe he may have non-fatally blasted him, though even that's a little rough for Goku.

Goku wasn't bluffing on shooting him. Whether he would have killed Kaioshin is debatable.

Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
There's no way post-Kami Goku would kill someone if he had a choice. The worst Kaioshin could expect would be to get KO'd, in which case he couldn't fight Babidi. Kaioshin probably weighed that decision and decided it was better to let Goku fight than to be unable to help against Babidi or at worst, Buu.

Goku was bluffing since he knew Kaioshin is pussy and wouldn't take any risks.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Nah, he was bluffing 100%. Goku may do some reckless shit for the sake of a fight, but I doubt he ever cross the line to cold blooded murder.

He'd get revived along with Kibito when Bulma and co. use the Dragon Balls. Unless the wish was more specific but I'm 90% sure it was just "revive everyone who died today except the bad people".TheUltimateNinja wrote:What if Goku straight up wasted Kaioshin right there?Lord Beerus wrote:Nah, he was bluffing 100%. Without Kaioshin Gohan would get killed by Buu.ekrolo2 wrote:He'd get revived along with Kibito when Bulma and co. use the Dragon Balls. He'd still get revived by Bulma's wish thoughTheUltimateNinja wrote:Without Kaioshin Gohan would get killed by Buu.
With him there, Goku would teach him the fusion dance, become Gokhan and then end the Boo arc right then and there.

Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
He wouldn't, he'd stay dead. With Gokhan's victory over Boo and Bobidi, Goku would return to the afterlife and Vegeta would probably get revived some time later and life would proceed without Goku back, Gotenks existing (unless Gohan and/or Piccolo teach them fusion just in case for a future threat) and Gohan never becoming Ultimate.TheUltimateNinja wrote:But how would Goku come back to life?

Gokhan would be stuck in the afterlife with both of them dead, how would they go and beat Buu?ekrolo2 wrote:He wouldn't, he'd stay dead. Huh?TheUltimateNinja wrote:Gokhan would be stuck in the afterlife with both of them dead, how would they go and beat Buu?
The scenario plays out like this: Goku wakes up, goes to the Lookout to inform everyone, Bulma's wish revives all the good people who died that day (Gohan included), Goku brings his son to the Lookout, they practice fusion and become Gokhan. Goku never wastes his time on Earth as he never powers up to SS3 and Gokhan would be more than enough to kill Fat Boo within the 30-minute time limit of fusion. Fat Boo and Bobidi get crushed like ants, Goku fucks off back into the afterlife and Vegeta gets revived sometime later when the DBs become available again.

What if Goku and Gohan can't do the fusion dance due to one being dead and one being alive?ekrolo2 wrote:Huh?TheUltimateNinja wrote:Gokhan would be stuck in the afterlife with both of them dead, how would they go and beat Buu?

Re: Was Goku really gonna kill Kaioshin?
Goku says it's unfortunate Gohan and Vegeta are both gone, leaving him with no viable partner, meaning that it really doesn't matter if one of them is dead or alive. I won't use Vegetto as the sole example since the Potara aren't the same kind of fusion but I think these two things are more than enough to assume it doesn't really matter if one partner is dead or not.TheUltimateNinja wrote:What if Goku and Gohan can't do the fusion dance due to one being dead and one being alive?
