The Search for the Old Dragon Ball Fansites
Hey everyone, I kind of need some help with something. So I'm working on a project for my website. The project is basically finding out where all the old and former webmasters of old who use to run Dragon Ball Fan sites from back in the day (2000 to about 2008) it's around that time I think the old school 'Fansite' died and things IMO went sort of more to the media side of things.
Not to jump into any kind of debate over it, but for me, I shifted from posting on forums and chat rooms IRC, etc in about 2008 as I didn't feel as if it was right to sell fansubs for the money. AKA sites like Naruto Fan. I felt like the generation of fans just wanted to watch the shows vs reading detailed information guides we all use to write. That and with Wiki's rising all over, I can see why those fansites faded.
I thought that this would be a cool little thing to write about. What happened to those cool Dragon Ball Fan sites of old? To refresh everyone's memory of what sites I can remember, in no order.
Dragon Ball Unlimited
Super Saiyan Z Rage
Temple O' Trunks
DBZN
DBZ Saiyan Chronicles
DBZ/GT Legacy
DragonBall GT.com
Planet Namek
Secret Saiyan
Now granted some of these I know of, like Temple and of course Majin Planet (duh my own site) But there is a list of other ones I simply don't recall, I know there was a network of websites under the ZRage name. There is, of course, this site and its history. I know there are a lot of people who browse these forms who might remember, who heck might have even taken part in some of these sites forms, etc. I wanted to write a sort of Legacy post for each site I could find with as much information about the owner, staff and the history of the site as there is out there.
Of course, there is the Way Back Machine to get some the information, but I wanted to see if anyone had any personal stories or heck maybe you worked on one of these sites or one I didn't list. Lastly, if this is the wrong place for such a topic, forgive me, wasn't sure if this should go in the Dragon Ball site or not because it's more about the sites that talk about it rather than directly the show itself.

This sounds like a very interesting project. To clarify, do you only want information on websites that are no longer in operation, or is that not a factor?
Someone asked me why I invest so much time into collecting Dragonball doujinshi.
I answered, "Because I don't see anyone else doing it".

Re: The Search for the Old Dragon Ball Fansites
I'm actively working on a giant section of the in-progress-wiki cataloging the most important fansites, fansubbers, community projects, etc. from my time and before.
Don't have anything to share just yet, but it's probably a lot of what you're looking for
. I just wrapped up writing the #ssppp page after discovering I was the one (alongside Ramza, apparently?) who made the website for it...?!

Aw Man the nostalgia! I was heavy on Secret Saiyan before stumbling across Daizenshuu (Now Kanzenshuu), WELL over 10 years ago. and Dranet.com too!
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

DBZ/GT Legacy actually has a YouTube channel where some of its old music videos have been uploaded, so you can try getting in touch with the webmaster that way:
https://www.youtube.com/user/DBZGTLegacy
I think I was briefly in touch with The Switcher (who made a lot of the vids) several years ago via YouTube, but I don't have his info anymore, unfortunately.
DBZ Warriors (whose videos I think Majin Planet featured in a couple of its contests) is still up and has also got a YouTube channel, so maybe poke around both and see if you can track down DannyPoo:

Re: The Search for the Old Dragon Ball Fansites
I remember a site called Tenshinhans Ichido(sp?) He seems like a good guy to chase up. He quit before fan sites died but after there was no new DB content. Curious if he saw Super or not...
Re: The Search for the Old Dragon Ball Fansites
Oh man, Planet Namek. I was on that site all the time. I'll be keeping track of this topic.
