I thought only DBZ and Super had problem with Chi Chi, whose character treats were cranked up for "comedy" purposes in added scenes. But, i ve recently watched original Dragon Ball for 1st time, and, it had same problem, almost every girl (save for some filler ones, like that little girl from Man-Eating Gourd episode) got way meaner:
- Bulma calmed down in manga by 22th TB, but in anime, she keeps bully Oolong without provocation, and is mean to Yamcha
- Blonde Launch in extra scenes mostly have her bully Roshi or Oolong
- Sno extra scenes also made her meaner towards Goku, even after witnessing his strength.

Remember when he roofied her and tried to molest her? Bullying Oolong is always valid. No matter what.coola wrote: Sun Jul 17, 2022 11:13 am

Literally the joke is regular Lunch is nice and Blonde Lunch is a trigger happy thieving psychopath. I don't know what you'd expect- Blonde Launch in extra scenes mostly have her bully Roshi or Oolong
But not really- Sno extra scenes also made her meaner towards Goku, even after witnessing his strength.

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Complaining about mean girls in comedy anime sounds like a losing battle IMO.
