The Three-Star Ball is one of the seven Dragon Balls. There are several distinct Three-Star Balls: from Earth's Dragon Balls, the Namekian Dragon Balls, the Ultimate Dragon Balls, and the Super Dragon Balls.

Earth's Dragon Balls

The Turtle Hermit claims to have found the Three-Star Ball on the bottom of the ocean about 100 years before the story began.[1] Bulma obtains this ball from him in the story's first arc, and she keeps it until it is stolen by the Pilaf Gang.[2] After Oolong steals Pilaf's wish, the balls scatter.[3]

After the 21st Tenka'ichi Budōkai, Goku sets out to find his lost Four-Star Ball and runs into the Red Ribbon Army who are also searching for the Dragon Balls. The Three-Star Ball is the third ball Goku finds, in a pool underneath a Pirate Cave. To obtain the ball, Goku travels under the sea with Bulma and Kuririn, and Goku defeats the pirates' robot Security Guard, a talking Octopus (which Goku eats), and General Blue, though he is saved from Blue's telekinesis by a rat in this first encounter.[4] Blue steals the ball briefly,[5] but Goku regains it when Blue is defeated by Arale.[6] Then Tao Pai-Pai also briefly steals the ball,[7] but Goku defeats him and regains it.[8] After Goku wins a divination from the Fortuneteller Crone, he leaves the balls with Upa while he goes to fetch the last ball from the Pilaf Gang.[9] Then the wish is made, and Bora is restored to life,[10] and the balls scatter.[11]
