Summary
Prologue
Oolong drives Bulma and Goku through the land of giant mushrooms toward the last Dragon Ball, while Yamcha and Pu'er follow them. According to the Dragon Radar, they are getting close. Bulma cannot wait for her wish to come true. Oolong asks what she is going to wish for, and she thought she already told him: she is going to wish for a really nice boyfriend. Oolong cannot believe they are risking their lives for such a trivial wish, but Bulma says a child like him would not understand. They fight again, and Oolong nearly crashes the car.
Part A
A vulture robot watches the cars pass and then flies away. Pu'er is excited; it is only a matter of time until they get the last Dragon Ball. Yamcha cannot wait to steal them and make his wish to lose his fear of girls.

At Pilaf's Castle, Shuu runs as fast as he can toward Pilaf, who is chastising Mai for not having finished their Dragon Radar. Pilaf lowers a cage of alligators from the ceiling and threatens to feed Mai to them. He starts counting, and Mai frantically works on the radar. As the count grows higher, Mai tries to distract him by asking him what sides she should make for dinner tonight. He asks for a hamburger steak and a fried egg. The screens come up for the radar, and Pilaf cannot remember where he left off in the count, so he decides to start over. Again, Mai tries to distract him, telling him about a new girl at the supermarket who has big boobs. Pilaf is suitably distracted, but an alligator growls, reminding him again of the count.
Shuu rushes in, and Pilaf asks whether he has found the Dragon Balls, but Shuu has only come to remind him of his nap. Mai announces that she has found a Dragon Ball nearby. She calculates its exact location, and Shuu follows her instructions. Five paces south. Seven paces east. Three paces south, four paces west. Six paces north, three paces west, five paces north. Shuu finds the Dragon Ball! Pilaf whacks him over the head. It is just the One-Star Ball that they already had. He tells them to find out where the monkey boy is, and Mai tells him they already have that angle taken care of. Just then, the vulture robot returns from its reconnaissance mission.

Mai watches the car approach from atop a giant mushroom and reports back to the castle. Pilaf tells her to commence with the plan, and she calls to Shuu to confirm his readiness. Oolong complains to Bulma that they have struggled too hard for her to just wish for a boyfriend; she should wish for something better. She tells him to be quiet; he has not been that useful. Just then, Oolong stops the car, suggesting she should drive since he has not been that useful. Shuu watches, happy to see division among their ranks. Yamcha also watches, frustrated that they are wasting time at this crucial moment. Goku puts his hands over his ears while Bulma yells at Oolong to continue driving. He refuses, so she invokes the curse of the PP Candy, and Oolong goes running. When he returns, he tells Bulma that no one will ever marry her, but he starts driving again.
Shuu chooses that moment to attack, blowing their car to bits. Goku says he was not expecting that. Pu'er seems to think they should help the others again, but Yamcha thinks they should just watch for now. Shuu lands in his mech suit, inspects the wreckage of their car, and then discovers the Dragon Balls in a case. He tells them he is taking their Dragon Balls and bids them farewell, hopping away on the giant mushrooms. Bulma tells Goku to hurry up and chase after the guy, so he calls Kinto'un and takes off while Bulma shouts encouragement.

Meanwhile, Shuu and Mai take off in the plane, leaving the mech suit behind. They celebrate their victory and fly away. Goku finds the mech suit and thinks he has found his target. He tells the suit that it is not nice to steal other people's things, but the suit does not respond. Goku looks around for its ears, and the hatch closes, so he backs up and tries to chastise the suit one more time. When it does not respond, he pokes it with his Nyoi-bō, and it falls over. Goku thinks it is dead.
Part B
Back at the wreckage of the car, Bulma wonders if Goku has found their Dragon Balls yet. Oolong tries to convince her to forget about the Dragon Balls; things are getting dangerous. Bulma says they cannot quit now, but Oolong volunteers to be her boyfriend. Bulma angrily refuses him, and he tells her she will regret it one day. Bulma does not believe this. Oolong suggests that perhaps a wish to Shenlong is the only way she will ever get a boyfriend, and Bulma asks what he is trying to imply.

Just then, Goku returns and reports that he beat up the interloper. Bulma asks after the Dragon Balls, but Goku says he did not have them. Bulma yells at him, and then realizes that the people who stole them probably already had the last ball. She cries, thinking it is all over now, but Goku reminds her that he still has his Four-Star Ball, so she celebrates, thanking Goku and hugging him, much to his distress. Oolong volunteers to take his place, but Bulma kicks him in the face.
Bulma is reinvigorated, and declares that she will be the one to make the wish, that they will use the Dragon Radar to track the thieves. Oolong asks how they are supposed to do this when they do not have a car. Bulma reminds him that she bought capsules in the last town, but then she realizes that the capsules were in the stolen case, and she cries again. Watching from a distance, Pu'er wonders what they should do, and Yamcha decides they have no choice but to step in and help them again. Pu'er wonders whether he will be okay around the girl, but he says he is starting to get used to it, and besides, he has to make his wish to get rid of his fear of girls.

As Bulma cries, Goku tries to tell her they can just walk, but Bulma does not think she can. Oolong says it is too bad she cannot ride Kinto'un, but Bulma reminds him that he cannot either. Just then, Yamcha and Pu'er pull up. Yamcha remarks on what a coincidence it is to find them again, and asks what they are doing out here. Bulma hops in the front seat and tells him that he shows up just at the right time, and she tosses Pu'er behind them, doing her best to convince Yamcha to give them a ride with flirtation.
Pu'er and Oolong hang on go the back of the two-seater Silver Star capsule, while Goku rides on Kinto'un. Bulma asks Yamcha to close his eyes, telling Pu'er to do the same, and Yamcha is terrified that Bulma is going to kiss him. But she only checks her Dragon Radar, seeing that the final ball is just twenty-five kilometers to the west. Yamcha asks what is taking so long, and she tells him he can open his eyes. He is surprised that she did not kiss him, relieved and disappointed at the same time. Bulma asks him to go faster, and to go west about twenty-five kilometers. She gives him a cheek rub to try to convince him, but this just makes him freak out again, losing control of the car. On Kinto'un, Goku thinks he is a strange person.
At Pilaf's Castle, Pilaf opens the case with the Dragon Balls and celebrates having gathered all seven balls. However, Mai and Shuu have noticed something: they only have six balls. They try to get his attention as he dances around with a globe of the world he will soon dominate. They finally get his attention, so he lines up all the balls in a special case designed to hold all seven. Seven-Star Ball, Six-Star Ball, Five-Star Ball...Three-Star Ball, Two-Star Ball...he places their original One-Star Ball in the case. The Four-Star Ball is missing! Mai and Shuu desperately search through the things they stole, and they cannot find it anywhere. Pilaf angrily yells at them, suggesting they should have counted them first, and Mai apologizes on their behalf. Shuu explains that he was convinced all the balls were in that case. Pilaf tells them they will not get any dinner that evening, but just then, their radar starts beeping, and they notice that a Dragon Ball appears to be approaching their location. Pilaf questions whether it is accurate, but Mai assures him it is working properly. Pilaf cannot believe his luck; he never expected to gather all the balls this quickly.

Goku is the first to spot the castle, and in the car below them, Bulma notices it too. They park outside the castle, and Yamcha tries to recover from his torturous ride. Pu'er asks him if he is alright, and he vows to get all of the Dragon Balls. Mai informs Pilaf that they have arrived, and he deduces that they must have a radar of their own. He announces that they will commence with the plan to capture them. Outside the castle, Goku says it does not look like anyone is home, but Bulma insists that the Dragon Balls are inside, so he pushes open the heavy front door.

Inside, the hallway is dark, but they walk forward anyway. First, they encounter bats, who fly past them out of the castle. Bulma is terrified and attempts to find comfort by hugging Yamcha, but he pushes her away in horror. She asks what that was for, and Yamcha tells Pu'er that even the bats were not that scary. Pu'er asks him whether he thinks they will encounter anything else inside the castle, but Bulma tells Pu'er not to ask things like that. Goku turns a corner to walk down another dark path, and Oolong tells him he is going too fast. A giant spider is lurking over their heads, but they do not see it, and the spider does not disturb them; it is just a spy camera. Goku steps on a tile that triggers a booby trap. Columns emerge from the walls, ceiling, and floor; they dodge them, but one of them catches Bulma, endangering her life as it rushes toward the ceiling. Yamcha destroys the column, and Goku catches Bulma. Goku and Yamcha battle the columns while the others desperately try to dodge. Yamcha ends up under a column that had been felled by Goku. He tries to chastise Goku for this, but then Bulma rushes to his side, telling him how scared she was. Yamcha is terrified again, and once again Goku thinks he is strange.
In the control room, Pilaf watches them defeat his booby trap; he is disappointed that none of them were seriously hurt. Mai assures him that is no fault of his. He asks her who designed this sorry booby trap, but she reminds him that he did. Goku and the others walk carefully and slowly along a wall, and Yamcha warns them to stay alert for more traps. Oolong asks Pu'er if they can be friends today, and Pu'er agrees. Soon, they come across a bright pink arrow, pointing in the direction they were already going. Goku finds another one down the hall. They decide to check it out, and Oolong wonders what is going on. Eventually, they come to a dead end. Yamcha wonders if the wall moves, but just then, a wall falls behind them, trapping them in a small room.
Back in the control room, Mai says they captured them just as intended, and Pilaf cannot believe they fell for such an obvious trap, but he celebrates having secured the Four-Star Ball at last. What will become of Goku and the gang?! In the next episode, the seven Dragon Balls will finally be gathered!
