"Dragon Ball Evolution" is the first official live-action adaptation of the Dragon Ball franchise. The movie premiered in Japan on 10 March 2009 with an American release a month later. It was written by Ben Ramsey and directed by James Wong, very loosely based on the King Piccolo Arc of the manga. The film was a commercial and critical failure and no further live-action sequels were produced.
