Overview

K-54 is given the title "Oolong Confrontation!" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant, the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.

Form and Analysis

The piece begins on a ii˚⁷ tonality with the trumpet melody: D♭-C-B♭-B♭. Then the trumpets take a melodic minor turn: C-D♭-E♮-C—and the tonality shifts to the dominant C7, where the piece ends. The C7 tonality can be used to set up any piece in the arc's main key, F Minor, or the parallel F Major.
