C4 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) arranged by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 1 which was broadcast on 26 February 1986.

Overview

C4 is an arrangement of "Mystical Adventure!", the Dragon Ball opening theme composed by Takeshi Ike. The full composition is part e of the suite entitled "Son Goku's Counterattack", which is track #23 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.

Usage and Variations

C4 is typically used for Eyecatch B, the after-break eyecatch where Oolong spins the parasol while Goku tosses the Dragon Balls onto it. There are only two exceptions:

  1. In episode 1, C4 is used for Eyecatch A and C2B-2 is used for Eyecatch B.
  2. In episode 2, C4 is used for both eyecatches and C2B-2 is omitted.
