Music
| Thrice - "T&C"
The song "T&C" on Thrice's 1999 debut EP First Impressions begins with a sample of Brian Drummond's Vegeta performance sourced from FUNimation's original 1996-1998 syndication broadcast dub of the Dragon Ball Z television series. Lyrics (penned by lead vocalist Dustin Kensrue) in the song's outro include: "So now what do I have to show? / And what price do I have to pay? / But like a Saiyan I won't grow / Unless I'm battered in the fray". The song was later re-recorded and included, sans Drummond voice sample, as the final track on the band's 2000 full-length album Identity Crisis. |
| I Hate Myself - "This Isn't the Tenka-Ichi-Budokai"
The song "This Isn't the Tenka-Ichi-Budokai" on I Hate Myself's 2000 album Ten Songs consists entirely of the lyrics "And we fought, and we fought hard / You beat me, ripped out my fucking heart / And waiting for death I bleed and bleed and bleed" repeated three times before ending with a "KAMEHAMEHA!" |
| Soulja Boy - "Goku"
Soulja Boy released a stand-alone single entitled "Goku" in July 2010[1], in which he uses gendered epithets to state that he believes that his appearance resembles Goku. |
| Jaden Smith - "Goku"
Jaden Smith released a stand-alone single entitled "GOKU" in December 2018. In the song's lyrics, Smith laments his declined credit card transactions, that he is in fact "ballin'", and that ayy yeah, ooh ooh ooh ooh, he "feels like Goku" (not to be confused with looking like Goku). In the song's official music video, Smith powers up and shoots ki blasts. Group fitness company Les Mills featured the song in their BODYSTEP™ 116 class release in summer 2019.[2] |
Television
| Buffy the Vampire Slayer - "Potential" (Season 7, Episode 12)

| The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy - "Chicken Ball Z" (Season 2, Episode 9B)
Mandy enters a tournament in hopes of its $50,000 grand prize. An ancient "Chicken Ball" from shopkeeper Kuan Ti allows her to become a great fighter, which in turn causes her to abandon her dreams of the cash prize and simply aim to become the greatest combatant. It turns out Kuan Ti was Eris in disguise causing chaos. Grim turns Billy into a hero as well, and they fight until the arena is destroyed. Mandy still wants the prize, though. Originally aired 15 August 2003. |
| Codename: Kids Next Door - "Operation: R.E.P.O.R.T." (Season 2, Episode 9A)
A task to retrieve "the goods" is interrupted by the "Devious Villains From the Consortium of Crime." Each sequence follows another KND Sector and their ultimate mission failure, each animated in a different style. It turns out "the goods" was a pizza. Parodies include "Numbuh 4" (Wallabee) as Goku, Super Saiyan hair, gigantic Super Saiyan 3 hair, the villains taking on variations of Freeza's forms, and claims about needing to use their "full power" to win. Originally aired 05 December 2003. |

Originally aired 22 December 2005. |
| Saturday Night Live - TV Funhouse (Season 32, Episode 5)
The animated TV Funhouse segment tells the story of Japanese competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi as he saves the day. Villains set houses on fire and create a flood, so it is up to Kobayashi to rescue the women and children and teach them valuable lessons along the way... about eating hotdogs. FUNimation's subtitle style is matched, while some of the Faulconer Productions replacement score is occasionally intermixed with the footage. The ending theme is a musically-accurate parody of Dragon Ball Z Movie 13's original Japanese closing theme complete with some of the same lines (such as "passion" right before the final "Kobayashi!").
