The Prison Planet arc is the first original story line of the Super Dragon Ball Heroes Universe Mission update, and the second extended Super Dragon Ball Heroes original story line overall. It is the first Super Dragon Ball Heroes-original story line to focus primarily on versions of characters resembling—though not sharing strict continuity with—their main series Dragon Ball Super counterparts, rather than "Xeno" versions hailing from alternate timelines.
In the Super Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game, the story line consists of the three smaller campaigns: the Prison Planet arc, the Prison Planet: Melee arc, and the Prison Planet: Congregation arc.
The arc has been adapted into both manga and anime forms, via Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Universe Mission and the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime.
The Prison Planet arc is followed by a direct sequel, the Universal Conflict arc.
Synopsis
Trunks returns from the future to train with Goku and Vegeta. However, he abruptly vanishes. The mystery man “Fu” suddenly appears, telling them that Trunks has been locked up on the “Prison Planet,” a mysterious facility in an unknown location between universes. The group searches for the Dragon Balls to free Trunks, but an unending super battle awaits them!
