Re: GT: 100 Years Later TV Series
Dragon Ball as a franchise is built on legacy. All of Z’s best arcs recontextualize old ideas. GT may have tried to duplicate OG DB in its first arc but after that they really got the ball rolling, so if reusing old ideas for continuity sake automatically makes something uncreative, then Z itself ...

Re: GT: 100 Years Later TV Series
I think a new TV series that continues the GT TV special could have potential.
We'd have new heroes emerge without constantly retreading old battles or recycling old villains and people wouldn't miss Goku or Vegeta because Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr are their carbon copies :D
Goku Jr. looks like ...

Re: GT: 100 Years Later TV Series
Make Dragon Ball weirder?
It's time to make Gokuu and friends become women. And be bisexual.
And fight guys who also turn into women and be bisexual.
And hold hands.
And battle each other in insanely cheesecake positions.
And travel to new worlds where people experience emotions other than ...

Re: Is Post EoZ Content "Forbidden" Because of GT &/or EoZ serving as Toriyama's official epilogue?
There is this Toriyama wish to not go beyond it and basically all the stuff he helped work is stuck in this gap limbo.
]
Toriyama himself said around the time of Battle of Gods that he felt the characters were simply too old by EoZ, which is why he chose to set new stories before it in the first ...

Re: Dragon Ball Refuses To Move Forward
If you think everything I said so far is nonsensical, then we can stop discussing here. We will not see eye to eye. Have a good day.
We should be seeing eye to eye, though. My reasons for wanting Dragon Ball to move forward are sane and understandable. New stories, new content, characters ...

Re: Dragon Ball Refuses To Move Forward
A remake of OG Dragon Ball would be infinitely better because we’d see a modern animation style compared to the old 40-year-old animation.
I'd take that 40 year old art and animation over the stiff, visually blinding slop that's on the market today.
Animation technology and techniques have ...

Re: Should GT be remade at some point?
Dragon Ball GT debuted in Japan on February 7, 1996.
Its 30 year anniversary should be celebrated in a revival.
I know Daima borrowed many elements from it, and there are nods to things like Super Saiyan 4, but timeline-wise, that story is stuck in the 10-year gap before EoZ.

I fully agree with all his points.
OG Dragon Ball (1986) getting the Kai treatment or being remade would be infinitely better of a 40th anniversary celebration than Super
What does a remake of DB has to do with moving forward? That's rather ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
If Super is supposed to be a midquel, then it would only make sense for them to conclude Black Freeza and tie everything up to EoZ.
If they decide to finally not play it safe and go beyond EoZ or beyond GT , it would have to be a new series.
Not really. Toyotaro could easily just do a timeskip ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
GT exists, I doubt Toriyama ever cared about going past EoZ.
The suits we're probably more adverse to it than anyone else, since modern Dragon Ball is mostly recycled contents and characters.
I mean, Toriyama would've been forced to go passed the end of the manga if he were still with us ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
With the anime returning, the big question is if the manga will continue as well.
Of course it will, as the legal issues holding the anime back were also impacting the manga. Now it's only a matter of when the announcement will be made. I expect either comic-con in July, or Jump Festa in ...

Re: DBS Arc Plannings Leading To Moro in 2027
They are not going to produce the Galactic Patrol Prisoner and Granolah arcs into 6 episodes each. It will be much longer than that. I suspect the same is true for the Future Trunks and Universal Survival arcs. They already have enough materials to go past 6 episodes.
Yeah... If anything, I ...

DBS Arc Plannings Leading To Moro in 2027
RUMOR : Dragon Ball Super - Beerus will be 6 episodes long. The Golden Freeza arc will follow with the same length.
Dragon Ball Super - The Galactic Patrol is aiming for a Fall 2027 release.

I guess ANYTHING to ensure they never go past EoZ.
Now it's a remake of the 2013 movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods & DBS's Beerus arc from 2015
Perhaps they want to incorporate SS4 into the story this time around :D

Quality Difference (DB Special Comparison)
The amount of detail lost in the version below compared to the 16mm film scan above is so depressing to me. Is there any way to watch all 153 episodes of Dragon Ball presented in the quality of the first screenshot? Would the DBoxes be the way to go?

Aside you mentioning Super's birthday episode for Bulma there's
“Looking Back at It All: The Dragon Ball Z Year‑End Show!” - a New Year’s Eve TV special that aired on Fuji TV on December 31, 1993. It's sort of lost media though.
