Unless they copy it and make it identical, I don't thing there would be legal issues out of inspiration.

I predict the following:
DBS returns on TV with Moro + Granolah
DBS manga returns with Black Freeza / EoZ tie-in
DBS 40-year anniversary movie will come out late 2025/early 2026 with Daima characters involved, taking place after DBSSH
A new series beyond EoZ is announced in the distant future

Let's forget about "canon" for a moment.
(My opinion is the only canon that nobody can argue is the original manga canon. Everything else is a gray area with Toriyama being somewhat involved, e.g. Toriyama saying Super is a "casual continuation" and GT is a "grand side-story")

Toriyama's original Dragon Ball story that concluded back in 1995 (or 1996 for the anime) now has three sequels: GT, Super, and now Daima. In your opinion, which sequel ...

In my opinion, there are 3 main continuities:

Continuity 1 : The original manga (+ optionally including the Super manga)
Continuity 2 : The original anime run: DB, Z, GT
Continuity 3 : The modern anime run: Kai, Super, Daima

I'm very curious to see how they explain the implications for SS4 in DBS. Perhaps this version of SS4 has God ki because of the red hair?
