Re: Toriyama's Near Complete Works archive?

Yeah, at the time I used to follow then on Kanzenshuu (specially for the translation). But once I noticed there were no new updates for a while, I checked and realized that archive.org was already missing some. Do you happen to have a link of those international pages? Even without the info blurb, i...

Toriyama's Near Complete Works archive?

Does anyone know if there's an archive of Toriyama's Near Complete Works that are published daily on the official site?

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"

Characters who have nothing to do with anything getting more in a section of the movie that's already got only the flimsiest of connections to what happens later is not how you improve a film with an extended cut. I think an extended cut should provide content that was cut from the movie. If it's a...

Considering that I never liked the original design, the new one. By a country mile.

Re: All in all, are you happy the revival happened?

Definitely. While I do have my criticisms, they're mostly directed at the execution rather than concept and story. All in all, the positive far outweights the negative.

I'm even happy that Evolution happened, since it was the catalyst for Toriyama's return.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Regarding the new Yardrat's design, I get the feeling that this new version came from Toriyama and Toyotaro tried to incorporate the old design with the forced argument that "they come in multiple types". If that's the case, I'd rather that they just ignore the old one completely...

In the manga Gine said it wasn't like a Saiyan man to care about his children, or was that worry about them?
She said it wasn't like him to worry about his son. In the film it's worded slightly different but the overall point is the same.

First time I've heard the new Vegeta and... ugh. It doesn't fit the character at all. There's no graveness and it's too high-pitched.

Actually, the comments are overwhelmingly in favor of 4:3,
I'm talking about those against 4:3, of course.

It seems the poll was at 50/50 two days ago:

Re: Possible details on Selecta Vision's Dragon Ball (1986-1989) bluray release

There was a time where I wasted my time explaining the aspect ratio issue to people, be it for movies, TV, games, heck, even photos. But it's no use. While there are people that are genuinely ignorant about it, most simply don't care. They would rather cut, or worse, stretch things to whatever scree...

Re: Dragon Ball Super in Portugal

Which episodes were those?

P.S: I was talking about Kai, but I wouldn't mind a dub of Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F'. I think the chances of that happening aren't as low as the ones for a Kai dub.

Re: Dragon Ball Super in Portugal

It probably won't happen, but I think that if Biggs is successful with DBS, they should get the license for Kai and order a dub later on. Specially now when the main characters have new voice actors, and it would bring some context to those watching DBS that aren't familiar with Dragon Ball.

Re: Dragon Ball Super in Portugal

I finally got my hands on the movie's DVD and, well, it's a surprisingly good encode (similar, if not the same, as the Selecta Visión DVD). Very high bitrate, at a constant 8 Mbps. No picture artifacts whatsoever to speak of. Considering the previous home video releases that we got, this is a huge s...

Re: With DragonBall getting more and more global, it's time to include more lgbtqia+ characters

Block stated including LGBT+ characters would be "catering to them," and that they can find "their own show." By extension, that basically says that Dragon Ball is for straight cis people, that it is their own show, and that it is catering to them. I never agreed with that assertion nor was that wh...

Re: With DragonBall getting more and more global, it's time to include more lgbtqia+ characters

I don’t see how this series, of all things, “caters exclusively to straight cis people”... or to much of anyone for that matter. Exactly. Dragon Ball is appealing (globally) irrespective of each fan's sexuality or sexual preference. It's simply not something the series dwells on, so much so that we...
