Re: Would the series be better if Chi-Chi just didn't exist?
No. Like her or not, she does play some kind of role in the series. If Toriyama hated her that much, there would be no Chi Chi. I must be one of the few people who actually likes her.

Re: Biggest exageration by fans?
Probably Goku and Chi-Chi as "horrible" parents. They both have their faults but they haven't necessarily raised bad children.
I agree with this. People give those two too much flack as parents. Like you said, they aren't perfect and have flaws but look how Gohan turned out. That right there ...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Also, about the comments of the RR Ribbon and Daimaoh arc and hell, all of DB combine being more serious than Z, it's probably because of target audience. DB was for 13-15 year olds, DBZ was for 7-12. And given the vibe of the new movies, I doubt that Dragon Ball Super is intended to be watched ...

Re: Favorite heartwarming or tearjerking moments
When Goku saw his Grandpa for the first time.
When Goten meets his father. It makes me feel a certain way.
Gohan's birthday before the Cell games.
Goku's sacrifice for the second time. The Japanese did a better job although the English version was good.
Goku waking up from his virus and ChiChi ...

Re: Torishima's thoughts on when the series should've ended
I disagree. This will always be debated but I think the series should've ended during Cell arc. I don't hate the Buu arc because it did start off good in the beginning but it was all over the place.

Re: What phrases/opinions/things bring out your irate fanboy
Goku's "absenteeism" started when he gave his life to save his son.
What a shitty father.
And when he decided to stay dead for 7 years, and didn't know he had a 2nd son, and stayed training for a year after Namek, and left his family to train a stranger, and is known to rarely see or call ...

Re: What phrases/opinions/things bring out your irate fanboy
Goku may not have been the greatest parent but he certainly isn't the worst and there are plenty of moments where Goku does care for his son and wife. I will never understand how Vegeta, a murderer, is somehow a better parent than Goku. Yes, he did change but doesn't make him a better father. At ...

I can picture him with Suno instead of Bulma. Bulma is too much of a spoil rich girl and Goku is more of a laid back, country hick kind of guy.

Nostalgia or not, I would still watch DBZ. Watching DBZ Kai made me love and respect the show even more. Yes, it has it's flaws but it doesn't ruin my love for the show.

Re: What do you hope to see in Dragon Ball Super?
A balance between DB and DBZ.
I want to see more of the human characters and not just the Sayians.
A little romance with Gohan and Videl, Goku and ChiChi.
New villains.

Re: Annoying things people say about DB/Z (No repetitions)
Goku is a bad father.
The story was simple, not deep.
No character development.(Strongly disagree)
Took ten episodes for a fight to happen.
The list goes on and on. DBZ is a flawed series but I still love the show after all these years. It seems like it's popular to criticize a show that is seen as ...

Re: What If Toriyama Tried To Make DBZ Deep?
DBZ could make some changes but I don't want the show being too deep or too serious. A lot of people like DBZ because the story is simple yet enjoyable to watch. There are shows that are deep yet I can't get into or find boring.

Re: Why do fans hate/demonize Yamcha and Chi-Chi?
Even though Yamcha isn't my favorite character, I don't know why he gets so much hate.
As for Chichi, I've always liked her as a character. She does have flaws and can be overbearing at times but she does care about her family. The fans go too far with the hate for Chichi. You have fans saying ...

Re: So why is Adult Gohan always shamed by the fandom?
I prefer adult/teen Gohan over kid Gohan. Whether fans like it or not, Gohan was not like his father. His heart wasn't into fighting. He only did it because he was forced to do it. Granted, I would have loved for him to be a hero and take his father's place but he preferred the books over martial ...
