Re: Why are the English dubisms far too ingrained into the fandom?

You mentioned that this even affects the "hardcore fandom"--can a dub fan not be a hardcore fan? Is there some kind of language standard for when you're considered a "hardcore" fan versus a casual fan? I think someone who collects video releases, manga, and video games of the se...

Re: Danish - the most unique European dub of Dragon Ball Z

If I recall correctly, our fellow German Kanzenshueer Timo had mentioned that when both RTL II and Andy Knote from ToyCo (a German music company known for recording German version of anime songs) were shown the Arianne opening, they didn't like it and they were offered to use the original Chala Hea...

Danish - the most unique European dub of Dragon Ball Z

So with the recent confirmation that when Dragon Ball Super comes to Denmark this autumn it will be indeed getting a Danish dub I thought it would be fun to look back at the Danish dub of Dragon Ball Z, which I must say is the most unique of all the show's European dubs. Why is it unique? Rock the D...

Re: Upcoming Danish Dragon Ball Super Dub confirmed

Fantastic news, there hasn't been a Danish dub of anything since Dragon Ball Z's 2002-2005 run on DR1.

Hopefully as many fans as possible can support this so this Danish dub of Super can be completed and more Scandinavian dubs can come in the future.

Re: Why are the English dubisms far too ingrained into the fandom?

I think we all know the Barry Watson pronunciation of Saiyan is never going to go away. As much as the unreleased Ocean Kai dub is an attempt to faithfully represent the original Japanese version we know from the recent Anime Time Machine livestreams Karl Willems was adamant the "say-an" i...

Re: Furuya Tooru (Yamcha) Admits to Physically Abusing Woman He Had An Affair With

If it were an affair, whatever, personal matters between two consenting adults. Nah, that would still be bad because his wife wouldn't consent to that. Though the abuse obviously does nothing but dig his hole much deeper than it would already be. Infidelity is also an abhorrent act of disrespect. O...

Forced woman he had affair with to do abortion...may i remind he is also married? https://myanimelist.net/people/6240/Satomi_Majima This is just... sickening and outright cruelty by any stretch of the imagination. As men we can never understand what women go through in pregnancy and can only empati...

Re: Is original Dragon Ball really that unpopular?

i loved the King Piccolo and Tenshinhan storylines The King Piccolo arc is incredible, I don't know why not all Dragon Ball Z fans can appreciate it as it may not be as flashy as the Z major arcs but it still has the high stakes tension everyone loves. Even Funimation's half-hearted attempt to appe...

Re: The Kix Broadcast of Kai

I'm genuinely amazed Super is still getting reruns on there to this day. I mean its been 5 years at this point!! That's almost as long as Z's time on UK TV, which lasted from March 2000 to Summer 2005, AND that had more than twice as many episodes to rerun! Apparently it's because of Pop's partners...

Yeah, infidelity is bad enough but men harming women and forcing abortions on them is disgusting. I'm all for Yamcha getting the recast treatment.

Re: Do Toei no longer license Z to broadcasters in favour of Kai?

And Cure has made multiple post about Dragon Ball Z airing in Latin American countries recently Not only that, there's also still dubs of Dragon Ball Z being made to this day, like the 2019-2021 Kurdish dub, which aired on 4Anime in Iraq. Also keep an eye on Anibox in South Korea, they've been airi...

Re: Dragon Ball in Greece and Cyprus

Had Dragon Ball been aired 30 minutes later, the story would've been really different. Not only because of a Slovene dub, but also a VHS release since as I mentioned on one of our PMs, Ringa Raja had this deal with a publisher to release episodes from the series aired on the block on VHS. Funny you...

Re: Dragon Ball in Greece and Cyprus

Nice one, I do love me some history threads about this franchise in whatever country and having all the info for fans from those regions and of those dubs in one place. I hope one day the Slovenian voiceover is found, even just to see how much influence the Greek dub may have had, as I find it inter...

Re: The Kix Broadcast of Kai

You mentioned the later Frieza arc episodes only airing once, but they actually did air several times. Kix did have an annoying habit of jumping back to episode 1 prematurely whenever the schedule got changed around, but those episodes definitely got rerun a few times prior to the Android arc airin...

Dragon Ball country by country in Africa

As I've said before I'm assisting Derek Padula carry out research for his future book on the history of Dragon Ball in every country. As of now I'm close to having Scandinavia and the Nordics fully covered. I've noticed theres still a lot of holes in Africa though, so thought maybe a thread for it w...

Re: DragonBall Super in Greece

I think Daima will INDEED be the first time Dragon Ball will be a world wide product, the usual suspects like USA And Latin America are givens but I think they will also be doing dubs for Greece and even Poland, plus all the languages from India. I'm hoping every country in the world will at least ...

France (Warner TV) Wow didn't know about them, thanks for that. Germany (RTLZWEI), Cyprus (Smile TV). Forgot about RTLZWEI, thanks for the reminder as I was due an update on then as last I heard it was unclear if they would air the whole series. Luckily it seems they did as of last August . Cyprus ...

I hear what your saying about solicitations and do pardon any potential ignorance on my part VegettoEX . I probably should have phrased it better as Amazon's page for 2.1 itself was clearly intended for an official product. I'm just wondering did someone post a used listing to take advantage of peop...
