Re: Dragon Ball Official Worldwide Character Popularity Poll
For those that don’t want to watch a video:
https://db1.dragon-ball-official.com/en/
Nothing terribly surprising since it is a popularity poll. The top 4 was pretty much a given. I’m slightly surprised Teen Trunks didn’t beat Vegito but otherwise pretty standard list at least for the top 20. I ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
Like you said, the crazy thing is how there WAS a way to fix F. Trunks' reality. Literally have him participate in the T.O.P., although MY idea for that would be altered a bit. Specifically, F. Trunks would win, but after seeing all of the other universes get erased, he'd have to briefly make ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
Regarding the discussion of the Future Trunks arc's ending, I believe the biggest issue with it that subconsciously drove a large portion of the negative response when it aired, is that none of the characters behave how you would expect them to, given the situation. There is a massive disconnect ...

Re: Which memory were wiped from 25th Tenkaichi Budokai (Majin Buu arc)?
After Majin Boo (or Kid Boo to be precise) was defeated, Goku wished to erase the memories of Majin Boo (likely including Babidi and his crew) from everyone on Earth with the sole exception of Goku's friends and family.
This begs a question of how many memory wiped from 25th Tenkaichi Budokai ...

Re: Dragon Ball should be understood as multiple valid continuities rather than a single "canon"
Honestly? I'm legit amazed that barely anyone has entertained the idea of (Modern) DB going the 'multiple continuities' route, ESPECIALLY after Daima .
If no one minds me bringing up the current legal battle going on with DB right now... Once it became clear to me that Daima was set to take place ...

His health has been improving so he's been kind enough to answer random fan questions, so I'm happy to be able to slide him some love every now and then haha

But yeah it's been 35 years, and it was "just his job", so remembering the characters and ...

Re: Why are we still stuck in the "10 years" period?
Daima might be treated as a separate continuity from the other two, and allow Capsule Corp. Tokyo do its own Dragon Ball stuff going forward. Specifically in a way where they don't have to adhere to/address Super's content and get in trouble with Shueisha or whatever.
Shuesha co-owns the ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
I'm glad that it didn't end with Cell. If you ask me, I'm happy how things are with the original manga run.
Same here. Honestly, I know people give it credit for the 'emotional resonance', but when I think about how we GOT to that point in the story (the Cell arc's bittersweet ending)?
Yeah ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
I can't help but feel that when people note how Toriyama seemed to have no interest in writing for Gohan... well, that might be an understatement.
I don't think it was Toriyama not being interested in him, but rather not knowing what to do with him. Gohan had a full character arc spread across ...

Re: Why are we still stuck in the "10 years" period?
Not going to lie to you all... at THIS point? I'm genuinely of the belief that there's a genuine mandate currently in effect that won't allow ANYONE (TOEI, Shueisha, etc.) to touch DB, post-Goku and Uub's departure. I'm sorry, but the fact that a LOT of Super feels like it could have flourished more ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
Did it ever feel like Gohan was set to DO anything meaningful in the Buu arc that actually furthered his character significantly, at least compared to folks like Vegeta and Mr. Satan?
Both Gohan and Piccolo had their story arcs wrapped up very nicely in the Cell arc. The Buu arc served to show ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
I think the cell arc ending works as the end point for Goku's story but it feels like just the beginning of Gohans story, so i dont know exactly how i feel about it as an ending DB as a whole there but I could believe that it effectively functions as Goku's end(had they decided to commit to that ...

Re: Should Daima get adapted into a manga ?
Why not?
Bonus points if Naho Ooshi (Dragon Ball SD) is the one heading it. It's probably just me, but I feel like Toyotaro's style wouldn't gel with Daima's 'vibe', if that makes sense.

Re: Gohan's total absence
Toriyama's involvement was retroactive mostly, it could simply be he didn't intervene enough to undo Gohans omission.
As someone who wants more non goku and vegeta content, I do not mind Gohans non involvement here.
We know he fought high level powers in a childs body already, so he would not be ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
For the record, I do enjoy GT's JP intro. Like, I don't hate (or even dislike it), but I never felt like it was meant for DB.
Frankly, it always felt like a Sailor Moon insert song just didn't make the cut for whatever reason.

Re: Is this the only post-EoZ Toriyama content that will ever exist?
I already greatly enjoyed Neko Majin before this final chapter featuring Goku and (most of) the Son family, but seeing that Toriyama's apparent view on the subject of (post-EoZ) Dragon Ball was that Goku had the fortitude to NOT totally "abandon his loved ones" (like GT depicted him as doing) will ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
My unpopular opinion is that GT's ending is very overrated. You often hear people say "GT sucked but it has a good ending and ssj4"
I don't think GT's ending is appropriate for Dragon Ball's tone at all. It feels like the ending to a different show altogether. Goku deciding to fuck off with the ...

Re: Would you prefer to get a manga focusing on Gohan and his family over DBS?
Even as someone who loves Gohan and slower pacing lije Daima...no, this is an awful idea that would genuinely be worse than the Goku&Vegeta show.
Not only it's extremely hard to work this into a shonen fornat. It's also making the very same mistake you are complaining about. Not moving on from a ...

Re: Poll: Let's forget about "canon". What's your favorite TV continuity?
Honestly, I think my 'quintessential' DB continuity is near-identical to yours, with some differences here and there.
Neko Majin (2005) [Chronologically, Goku's final on-panel adventure]
I really need to check this out when I get the chance.
Yeah, it's a pretty cute outing, all things ...
