Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

Should I interpret "the user Desassina... their inputs..." as somekind of jab meant to hint at a double personality disorder? Because I'm kind of tired of your attempts at subtle jokes which get the message across to anyone and me (not but me). This was after a certain private message by the way.

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

Aim, try not to be so oblivious about everything and seek your own answers, because these incessant questions are keeping a topic that bothers people alive, and I'm saying this because I didn't realize that I had been wrong all the time, for which I apologize to Adamant and everyone who's been on th...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

If you look at what the name Tsufuru-jin is a pun of - i.e. furuutsu , which translates into fruits - you'll see that a double vowel before the -tsu will demand that its syllable ends with a -ts sound. What does this mean to Raditz? Look at a similar name in Katatz: they were both transliterated wit...

Re: If you were a Saiyan, what path would you go through to get stronger?

First, train my weakness, the tail. Then, control myself while in Oozaru form, and rip my own tail off. Last, but not the least, retain the Oozaru power in human form. The difference between me and Broly is that I wouldn't have a traumatic event. It's based on choice and that alone.

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

I thought Cabba was accurate? I have no clue where "Ultra Instinct" came from, did official translations get that from us fans or...? In some countries, Kyabe and Cabe were used instead of Cabba, which comes from kyabetsu (cabbage). In the first case, its meaning was not taken directly into transla...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

No, actually, Krillin's official name is クリリン . You can't read that, because it's in Japanese, but you can transliterate (i.e. transform the Japanese characters in his name into Roman letters) into kuririn , which is only a middle step towards a complete translation into another language. It involve...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

Ok, I will clarify all of my examples with even more of them, because some Toriyama puns are born out of pronunciation (whose romanization we should transcribe), others from their written form (which we can translate), but one does not rule out the other when in fact they're both used. "With all due...

Re: Deploy the Headcanon!

Or are you saying that Cell's intervention created a timeline that Trunks was able to intervene in , which in turn created both 'our' timeline and another where somehow Goku dies anyway, and things turn out like in Trunks's time, which is in turn the timeline Cell comes from ? I guess I'm still bum...

Re: Deploy the Headcanon!

Goku never killed Freeza and King Cold in their arrival. Cell was the first entity from the future to arrive before all the changes took place and he remembered Trunks as the one who did it. Goku would have killed them, but did not and Trunks was therefore in Cell's history, before it changed furth...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

I'm more concerned with the process than with accuracy. Using the Portugal and French dub's flawed translation to disapprove of how Kuririn is supposed to be read isn't logical because the former two weren't used to justify it. Those dubs were actually used to justify Kakarrotto with both R because ...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

Kuri is supposed to be read as two consonants with a vowel in one go: "kri". In some cases, you only switch the R for an L when there are two syllables, such as in Metaru Kuura (Metal Coola). The U in Metaru replaces what we think is a third syllable with a sound that resembles Metal (only two syll...

Game: adjective for a name in each form or transformation.

If you could associate a form or transformation to a feeling or emotion (Super Saiyan Rage ), a description of their assets and appearance (Super Saiyan Blue ), without using their name while sticking to the adjectives themselves, like Wrathful for example, then what would they be? My goal is to loo...

Re: Kakarot vs Kakarotto - The Vegerot/Vegetto(ito) effect

Merus comes from "merusu", rearranged from surume (a squid fish?), and I personally call him Mels. That's a drink's name. Pybara comes from "pibara", possibly rewritten from pivara (bosnian brewery?), and I personally call him Brewer of Gods. Should I be a translator in easier times, such as the 80s...

Re: Does anyone else feel that much of the DB fandom enforces low standards?

It goes both ways. The 80s/90s anime exposed people to a feeling of Dragon Ball that is different than the manga, and when the author returned to give these studios a proper one through his contribution, it was both not the single work of an author (i.e. manga written solely by him) nor the prime ti...

Re: When all is said and done, who was stronger: Super Perfect Cell or SSJ2 Gohan?

Gohan was stronger, because he won that beam struggle, but it's not by such large margin. His energy was cut to half, but his Kamehameha could only damage the Earth, while Cell collected energy for a solar system busting one, so everything checks out, because the solar system is a bigger target than...

Re: Do you still enjoy non-canon Dragon Ball content?

I only like to keep track of time travel, even though ages might be included, but they're both important to know how old future Trunks is, because time isn't concurrent between past and future, only in a few instances.
