Re: Dragon Ball Daima: Episode 10 - Official Discussion Thread
I have to imagine that, with how lore focused this has been, Piccolo's status as a reincarnation is kept in mind, with Piccolo Daimao not actually being his father.
He's still the Nameless Namekian, the son of Katas.
Makes me wonder if Katas will actually be explored here.
Isn't current ...

Re: "The Artificial Humans are too strong, it doesn't make any sense!"
The issue is that it disrupts the progression the story went in.
Dragon Ball essentially starts with Goku trying to become the strongest. His first real skill check is his inability to beat his master. Eventually by the next tournament he has surpassed his master and now his real roadblock is the ...

Re: Does Goku have bad stamina?
Not really. Stamina is relative. Dragon Ball has a history of having characters max out to gain an advantage and battles are so fast that regular humans can't even perceive them without sensing it.

Re: Goku and why Roshi was more right than we ever could imagine.
He doesn't "outdo" Gohan, that's crazy. Goku still trains and keeps himself in shape, not too dissimilar from a boxer or fighter being in camp Vs out of camp. You can point toward him not being noticeably stronger from the 23rd Budokai to Z, but Piccolo didn't get much stronger either, and he has ...

Re: Torishima "Son Goku and Blooma should fall in love"
Before Toriyama retconned Goku's age, he said he was 14 at the start of the manga and Blooma is 16. So it was a 2 year age gap that turned into a 4 year age gap.
The reason it probably didn't happen regardless was because Toriyama doubled down many times over on Blooma being character flawed ...

Honestly, they really need to do something with Oob to justify him if they go beyond Z. He was the ending to the original manga. GT dropped the ball on him.

Re: Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
I wouldn’t expect his inclusion either, hell Goku has been to the afterlife on numerous occasions and still didn’t feel it was necessary to look up Grandpa Gohan. I wonder if Toriyama just forgot about him

Re: The reason Goku stayed dead that no one talks about
I think we can agree that Goku staying dead at the end of the Cell arc added complexity to his character via his multiple reasons for doing so. It began his desire to build the next generation, and his fear of attracting more enemies to earth as well as emphasizing his desire to fight strong ...

Was there ever an explanation given for why Goku couldn't just go SSJ4 and use instant transmission to get out of hell? We know that when he's alive he can teleport in and out of the afterlife because he does it the entire Buu arc.

Re: SS3 Vegeta
No because it wouldn't be all that in character for him. SSJ3 is designed to be a flawed form that was only possible via a more durable dead body or a fused character. It's meant to be so over the top in terms of energy drain that it's only worth it if you have some unnatural state of being that can ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 4/1/24!)
For an arc that was already short and was retreading an old villain as its main antagonist, no clue why they didn't double down on the one cool part of the arc where they could actually explore the impact of returning villains.

Re: What is the minimum age you would recommend Dragon Ball for?
Probably 7 or 8. Most of the Roshi stuff is going to go over their head or be played for laughs to the point where I don't think it woul cause much issues. Maybe 10 for the later uncut Freeza arc stuff. But even then I don't think I wouldn't let someone watch the show because at the end of one fight ...

Re: What's the problem with post-Cell arc Gohan?
Gohan's path makes sense. With that said, there was a heavy fan investment for a very long portion of the series from Saiyan Arc through the Android Arc from 1989 to 1993 for original readers and roughly a similar length of time for English fans watching the anime upon release of Gohan's hidden ...

Re: Will Oob Be Any Stronger After The Events Of DBS?
Stronger just because base Goku is stronger. However, we know SSJ was too much for him. So SSJ2, SSJ3, SSJG, SSJGSSJ, and UI are likely still well over his level.
Also it's worth noting, Oob may be powerful, he's not very well trained, so that was a factor in his fight with Goku,

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #2 Thread: "Super Hero"
But unlike Gohan, we don't know what happens if a Namekuseijin slacks off¹.
That's true. He could still keep the transformations and just decide not to participate. I was thinking that they both were interested in participating in the 25th tournament but not the 28th for whatever reason so it's ...
