Re: What would be your ideal Dragon Ball home release?

What my ideal home release for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, & Dragon Ball GT is simple: Blu-Ray Dragon Boxes with color correction and Japanese broadcast audio with English subtitles. I'd like for the TV specials to be included in the TV sets, as well. And one last thing, I want the next episode ...

Re: Dragon Ball GT back on Hulu USA

I couldn't tell whether GT had the same upscale treatment as the original DB had been given. But, it looks about like the Green Brick DVDs, especially since it has that god-awful metallic logo at the opening.

Re: Custom Covers

Hey y'all. I've been lurking on here for a while. I've been working on a personal definitive collection dvd set, and here's the cover I've been working on. Whatcha think? I'm not really satisfied with the front cover and spine. The font on the front is the same one used on the dragon box, but I ...

Re: AB vidéo has given up on continuing their Dragon Ball releases on Blu Ray

The franchise also prints money because most people in North America are cool with the widely available 16:9 Blu-ray.

I don't think the demand for a perfect release is big enough from a business standpoint.

It'd be cool if I were wrong, though.

Especially since people seem content with ...

Re: AB vidéo has given up on continuing their Dragon Ball releases on Blu Ray

Numerous sources, including french now, has confirmed that Dragon Ball will not continue to be released from AB. There will be no more upscales. AB themselves got fed up dealing with and waiting for Toei. They're fading out all anime from Toei on their TV channel, too.

I got asked not to ...

Re: AB vidéo has given up on continuing their Dragon Ball releases on Blu Ray

It looks like I'll continue to make my own physical copies of this legendary franchise, after all.

I plan on doing this once Seed of Might releases their color corrected version of Z. I plan on using the Kanzenban covers for the case art.

I guess the only slight hope for a proper HD release ...

Re: 2025 Dragon Ball Predictions

As awesome as it would have been to see the original Dragon Ball & GT on Blu-Ray, I don't see that happening in either 2025 or 2026. The reason I'm saying that is because of all the decades worth of poor home releases the franchise has received. Even if those two do end up getting Blu-Ray releases ...

Re: The Dragon Ball Rights Dispute: Shueisha, Capsule Corp Tokyo, and the Toriyama Estate

I'm wondering what this can mean for the future of Dragon Ball on home video. The ideal outcome would be if Capsule Corporation releases Blu-Rays of the original TV anime trilogy themselves. It may not amount to much in the grand scheme of things, but surely the home entertainment rights to Dragon ...

Re: The Dragon Ball Rights Dispute: Shueisha, Capsule Corp Tokyo, and the Toriyama Estate

If Capsule Corporation owns the anime and video game rights now, what could this mean for the future of the original TV anime trilogy on home video? Are those still owned by Shueisha or have they been transferred to Iyoku/Capsule Corp?

Re: Dragon Ball Z Blu Ray Season sets

Does anyone have a HQ template for the season set DVD covers? Because, I'm pretty amazed nobody at either Funimation or Crunchyroll ever released Kai and Super in packaging that closely matches the DB Blue Bricks, DBZ Orange Bricks, and DBGT Green Bricks.

Re: Custom Covers

To celebrate the premiere of Dragon Ball Daima, I decided to make a custom Blu-Ray cover for a hypothetical complete series set. I hear that the series is only going to be 20 episodes long. So in the event we get more episodes, I'll make sure to update. But for now, I'm sticking to just the one set ...

My apologies if this gets asked a lot, but can anyone by any chance please make custom DVD covers for Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super & maybe one for Dragon Ball Daima, done in the style of the Funimation season set releases?

Re: Custom Covers

Is there any way you can make a PNG logo for Dragon Ball: The Saga of Goku (specifically the horizontal Trimark DVD version of it)? It's for an SD-BD project for the BLT dub of the original Dragon Ball.

Re: The Dragon Ball Rights Dispute: Shueisha, Capsule Corp Tokyo, and the Toriyama Estate

Let me state for the record that I didn't mean for this to be about piracy or anything like that. The topic of the legal dispute between Iyoku's Capsule Corp and Toei/Shueisha has gotten me thinking about the state of any future DVD & Blu-Ray releases for the series.

Re: The Dragon Ball Rights Dispute: Shueisha, Capsule Corp Tokyo, and the Toriyama Estate

They would be through Toei Animation, but the lack of Blu-rays in the US would be due to Crunchyrolly simply having no use for Blu-ray releases fo those series.

I see. If only there's any good official release to support. Somehow, I've made the right choice to make my own Blu-Ray sets ...

Re: The Dragon Ball Rights Dispute: Shueisha, Capsule Corp Tokyo, and the Toriyama Estate

Where do the home entertainment rights factor into this dispute? I wonder if this is why we haven't received any announcements for English Blu-Ray releases of the original Dragon Ball and/or GT (even a new release of DBZ original/Kai)?
