Weird. I dont agree about GT at all. It feels very much like Dragon Ball to me. Especially Toei's version of what Dragon Ball is.

Re: Super or GT poll
For me, the Dragon Ball story ended with GT. Everything else has just been bonus content for me. GT just feels more like a natural continuation of the Z anime. I just wish it had gone on for as long as Super did. Super feels like a standalone corporate product. It has some fun fights, but ultimately...

Oh I thought someone just posted a comparison that showed that the colors were different.Matches Malone wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:59 amThere is no improvement, these are the exact copies we got for the 30th set.Tylerman29 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:56 amSooo the steels aren't a 1:1 copy? Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks
Honestly if I hadn't been spoiled by the Level sets and Dragon Boxes I would think these looked amazing. Alas, I can't look past the awful DVNR. To me its far too distracting to enjoy these despite the okay packaging. I have the same problem with the Green Bricks, and to an extent the Blue bricks......

Yup box says 16x9 but that appears to be an error.Matches Malone wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 3:20 pmAre you sure ? because on the box it says 16:9.Tylerman29 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:32 pmJust to clarify something. The new Naruto sets are NOT 16x9. They are the correct aspect ratio just like the Bleach sets.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
They're pretty expensive.. $60 MSRP x 9 is $540. Even if you got em all half off, you're still paying $270, at that rate, you'd have still been better off buying the 30th set since you can sell the extras for a pretty penny. But the steelbooks are way better looking and safer for your discs than th...

I'm hoping that if this does well they will MAYBE put out new blu rays steelbooks for the movies at least. Even better OG db.

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release
Can anyone post a frame compare of the 30th vs the Dragon Box around the Cell and Buu arcs. Someone on the Blu-ray.com forum is spreading nonsense and needs to be shut down. Stating that compared to the DBox "the 30th is without question the superior release". I can't for the life of me talk sense i...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I've heard of many instances of Blu-Ray actually making films look worse by washing out all the grain and making characters look very "waxy"(Terminator and the first BR release of Patton were particularly notorious for looking very artificial in that regard) so for that and other reasons(I.E. some ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I don't really see the appeal of 4K frankly, my good old HDTV works just fine for me. You can apply the same logic to any new format...its not something you need..it's just better. The difference can be negligible to mind blowing depending on the particular movie/content you are watching. I guess t...

Eh. I think Blu ray should be the bare minimum these days..hell, outside of anime Blu rays, I exclusively only buy 4K discs these days. The only DVDs I actively watch/own are DB related (ex. Dragon Boxes).

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
This set definitely got more hate than it deserved IMO. It's not perfect but it's good enough, looks better than the Dragon Boxes since it has better colors and on a big TV, the Dragon Boxes are pretty ugly.. Stop repeating this silly statement over and over. They do not look better than the dragon...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I watched all episodes up to number 199, and I can say that it's most of the time the best official release to watch DBZ on a 4k TV. It's not perfect (except for some episodes that looks beautiful, and these episodes in general have dust, does that means that they weren't "clenead" like others ?), ...
