Re: Would Level Sets be more sucessfull if Funimation wait more?

I think the other thing that killed the level sets was the numbering system. This was around the end of FUNi doing the part season sets. And Seeing that set had a Level 1.1 and 1.2 there is no doubt they would have released full level sets later down the road. I think some people were waiting for t...

Re: Would Level Sets be more sucessfull if Funimation wait more?

I believe if they had waited until around 2013 or later once Kai (at the time) was finished and the Dragon Boxes long out it would've likely been received better, because being crammed right after the latter and former still being released concurrently on DVD and Blu-ray in late 2011 didn't do the r...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Yeah they shouldn’t have put the filter..like if ur gunna DNR it to hell..commit to it..don’t slap on a filter to try to hide it. Own that shit FUNi! If they put out these sets as standalone releases and remove the fake grain I’m going to be pissed 😂. I know they had something similar to that on on...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Never again, FUNimation. The company that brought us Dragon Boxes in 2008 to atone for the Dragon Boxes is clearly dead. Orange Bricks, methinks. :) It really makes me wish they hadn't jumped the gun on the Levels back in 2011 and prematurely rushed them out the door crammed in between a bunch of o...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Well, judging by those screen caps it seems the 30th BD's are quite a good deal better looking than the Orange Bricks and Season BD's in addition to the mostly correct 4:3. Even as nice as those things are the overzealous use of the DNR and overly washed out colors still make it not nearly as wonder...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

What the hell happened to Nathan Johnson's music in this set? The recap is now using Mark Menza from GT. Apparently the Recap music used from the UUEs and the Orange Bricks aren't in this one? Wow, that's really odd. I don't know why they would alter it now for whatever reason considering tha...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

Seeing as how FUNimation is just ignoring me at this point, I almost want to push the chargeback timeline to tomorrow. I sent them another email this morning. I’m concerned because they charged for this thing all the way back in May. I may even just call my credit card company today. What a load of...

Re: What media haven't you consumed?

Basically the majority of Super as i'm crossing my fingers that season sets will eventually be announced, but aside from that most of the rest of Kai 1.0 and TFC.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I’ve tweeted at them, commented on Facebook, and emailed. If they ignore me for a week, then on Friday I’m starting the chargeback process. I’m not tolerating this. Goodwill wasted, FUNi can rot. Cardboard sleeves. What a joke! Here’s some free advice FUNi since you’re too stupid to put together a ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I don’t need to test it, I know it’s not going to work because it catches my fingernail. I don’t know what the hell they were thinking putting them in cardboard sleeves. Claim your money back. Working on it. I sent FUNi an email first, it’s Sunday so I’m sure I won’t hear back for a few days. If th...

I don’t need to test it, I know it’s not going to work because it catches my fingernail. I don’t know what the hell they were thinking putting them in cardboard sleeves. Test it anyways..for science. Hopefully its not a widespread issue. I’ve owned a few sleeve type packaging releases for other thi...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I take back every bit of goodwill I ever said about this set. Multiple discs are scratched because of course they are, they’re in cardboard sleeves! I was casing them up and checked each one, and after awhile I just gave up because every other disc was scratched and this one shown here is deep , as...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

How much picture you gain/lose with each of Funimation's blu-ray releases (not counting Kai). https://i.imgur.com/rG9OvSA.png Good lord, they cut off way too much of the image all around. It's the most cramped I've ever seen a 4:3 presentation and looks simply atrocious. I'm almost positive this is...

That's gonna be a naw from me.
Oh wow that looks really bad, it's easy to see this looks no better than the Season BD's minus the 4:3 rather than fake widescreen.

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

I hate cardboard sleeves & digipacks. I think the worst releases I've had with digipacks were the Doctor Who series 5 & 6 sets because every time I would take a disc out of the cases, they felt like, because the discs are kinda flimsy, that they'd snap in half because the disc holders are too sturd...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

That first Piccolo shot looks like it’s from Episode 4 which is the one I checked out quickly before having to get back to work. In my not-at-all-expert analysis, the Level set beats it out but the 30th set doesn’t look all that bad. I’ve discovered I’m probably easier to please though then a lot o...

Re: Looking to buy all the Japanese Dragon Boxes

I was more replying with that to the guy who was like "I just watch it online or download it, you must be really devoted to the show to buy it." Like, I'd prefer people buy the shitty 16:9 Blu Rays then pirate the show, when it is easily available through legal means (Not DBox quality though). But ...

Re: Happy Birthday to Masako Nozawa!

A very Happy birthday to you, Masako Nozawa-san. It's so amazing that she's been the voice of Goku (plus Gohan and Goten) literally about half of her life as she was in her 50's when the series started back in 1986. In addition to all the numerous other anime roles from over the past fifty some odd ...
